As with most of Square Enix's release dates, it's best to put a clarifying asterisk next to it. For Infinite Undiscovery, that simultaneous worldwide release was actually a 9-day span. For Final Fantasy XIII, it's PS3 Only ... in Japan (at least for now). Let's revisit the end of that Chrono Trigger DS teaser: "2008. Winter.* (Except for Europe)." Those across the pond will have to wait until Early 2009, according to Square Enix (via CVG). All we can offer is condolences and some screenshots that -- surprise -- look exactly like the 1995 rendition.

I guess they didn't want to give away the story too much, even though I bet most people interested in this game already know it. Still, they could have picked way better screenshots to send out!

Anyone who wants to play it in Europe is going to import it anyway. Look at Final Fantasy IV for example, is anyone in Europe still waiting to play that? Does it even have a release date here?
I've in the UK and I've had it since last week AND payed less than what it'll be when it comes here. I'll be doing the same with Chrono Trigger.

They just want to tease you folks so you'll blow a bigger fanboy load when you can finally a tangible, non-imported copy.

I'm having mixed feelings about the fact that it looks exactly the same for DS as it did for SNES and from looking at the controls, there's hardly anything added.

It seems like you just figured out their scam. Re-release the same game at 99.9% the same as the original, but charge $30 for it instead of the $8 it would be on VC.

Yeah, it's fine with me, just wish they wouldn't waste the DS capabilities with the same ol' graphics and gameplay. If it's not gonna have a whole makeover like FF3 & 4, then it should be released for GBA.

If they did up the graphics I'd expect it to look more like septerra core then the FFIV remake
