Fable 2 lands Oct 21 in US, Oct 24 in Europe
Although we already knew Fable 2 was arriving in October, Lionhead Studios has revealed the awaited title will hit US store shelves, then proceed to raise a family while it waits to be purchased, on October 21. European gamers can expect the game days later on October 24. For those who want to start padding their virtual wallets early, the Xbox Live Arcade Pub Games will land August 13.
Lionhead also unveiled an image of all that you can expect to get if you pick up the Limited Edition copy of the game. Details of the LE after the break.

"Bonus In-Game Content – Includes "The Hall of the Dead" Dungeon, "The Wreckager" Legendary Cutlass Weapon and Otherworldly Bonus"
Hmm... how much do you want to bet you're pretty much paying for this when you get the LE? I bet it'll be some DLC sometime in the future anyway. Plus, what's the point of getting a "legendary" weapon right away in the game? Won't it be pretty low-leveled and you may find a better weapon later, anyway?
matt @ Aug 7th 2008 1:37PM
my guess is that you dont automatically get the weapon. it is just hidden in somewhere, perhaps the dungeon, and you have to find it or acquire it somehow
AoE @ Aug 7th 2008 1:39PM
... really? Dude OF COURSE you are paying for it when you get the LE, that's why it costs more than the standard edition of the game. You're paying for all the extras, physical and digital.
giantenemycrab @ Aug 7th 2008 1:13PM
Hopefully Fable 2 will live up the hype, but I'm still burnt from the Fable 1 letdown.
AoE @ Aug 7th 2008 1:43PM
I'm sorry you weren't able to get past the let-down. Fable, if taken on it's own merits, and not compared to the mythic game (shall we call it project ego?) that PM spent a few years talking up... is actually a great game.
I'm looking forward to 2, which I assume will also be a great game... and simply ignoring everything PM has to say, as I'd hope by now we all know that he promises more than they deliver (and to be fair his promises... aren't realistic)
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Aug 7th 2008 3:50PM
This. I'm fucking tired of the whole, "I hated Fable 1 because it didn't live up to all the promises Molyneux made about it. Here's the deal, Fable 1 was still a damn good game, even if most of the things Molyneux was bragging about didn't make it into the final game it was still a damn good game.
Dustin @ Aug 7th 2008 1:18PM
Sounds like the collector's edition will actually include some decent in-game bonuses if this dungeon is any good. Even if not, though, the packaging and the hobbe have got me sold.
Gamestop preorder, here I come... :(
shoeshine @ Aug 7th 2008 6:25PM
Me too. I'm a sucker for Quees.
MKA @ Aug 7th 2008 1:19PM
Special steal my F'n money edition...
Just give me the game. Why do I need things that are just going to gather dust on a shelf somewhere.
Mr Khan @ Aug 7th 2008 1:19PM
Seems worth it for the most part
dat @ Aug 7th 2008 1:23PM
I just finished reading the new EGM and they said that Fable 2 was going to be pushed to 2009.
DigTheDoug @ Aug 7th 2008 1:26PM
Hahaha printed news...
dark_inchworm @ Aug 7th 2008 1:58PM
Current, accurate news: EGM is not relevant
Dralzz @ Aug 7th 2008 1:24PM
I'll just hold off and get the dungeon when it becomes DLC. There are never true exclusives anymore.
k04sm02 @ Aug 7th 2008 1:26PM
Ugh, business trip to Cali ON THAT DAY. I'll have to wait an additional week to start gaming on that.
Saria the Cat @ Aug 7th 2008 1:34PM
Grr! So many good games coming out this fall and I'll be in Japan... :(
Vcize @ Aug 7th 2008 4:18PM
Well, at least you'll be able to get all the newly released borderline anime porn games.
Snowblind @ Aug 7th 2008 1:39PM
Can we assume the "otherworldly bonus" is the Master Chief armour? Pretty cool extra content though, considering this only costs £5 more than the regular one, and the Lionhead guys tend to make pretty interesting making of stuff, so I'm sold.
Although I'm still against the idea of including extra content in these things just to force people into buying them.
Vladeon @ Aug 7th 2008 1:44PM
See, I would get that if I wasn't already getting the Too Human LE and the Fallout 3 LE (with the awesome lunchbox which I'm totally going to use), or, alternatly, if I excreted money from my very soul. That Pub Games arcade download seems pretty worth it though. I remember running out of money in Fable 1 all the time and not having any way to make more money. It was really annoying.
tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 7th 2008 1:50PM
Wow Fable 2 and Little Big Planet coming out within days of each other, and that's just all I know off the top of my head. That's one busy October that's for sure.
Mr. Cantu @ Aug 7th 2008 1:59PM
I thought the LE version would also include the pub games. Is this no longer true?
NekoDaimyo @ Aug 7th 2008 3:10PM
The pub games are included in the full game, regardless of limitedness.
Mr. Cantu @ Aug 7th 2008 4:05PM
Ah, ok good. Thanks for clearing that up form me.
Exo @ Aug 8th 2008 5:10AM
the pub games are free with preorder, but it will cost ms points if you dont preorder the game
3cubed @ Aug 7th 2008 2:02PM
Is the first one Backwards compatible? I didn't buy the first one since I didn't have the original xbox and I kind of want to check it out to see if I'll want this one.
jron @ Aug 7th 2008 2:14PM

Google is your friend :-)
tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 7th 2008 2:16PM
Yes it's backward compatible. You can even get it on their xbox originals section.
Knight Marquise @ Aug 7th 2008 2:30PM
Yes,
It's available as a download on xblm in the xbox original section.
3cubed @ Aug 7th 2008 2:41PM
I'm not giving Microsoft money! I'm going to ask one of my friends that has it to let me borrow it. jejeje
Captain Blaggers @ Aug 7th 2008 6:35PM
Didn't you give them money when you bought the 360 you're going to use to play Fable?
Waqman @ Aug 7th 2008 3:01PM
Hmm...how fitting. Ex Lionhead studios developers, Media Molecule, releasing their own game the same day as an exclusive to the rival console.
Batzarro @ Aug 10th 2008 2:48PM
Oh, what? What game is that, anyway?
baby sea tuna @ Aug 7th 2008 3:11PM
Oh shit! That Hobbe is a Trexi (or whatever)!
Sold!!
Jfk Aok @ Aug 7th 2008 3:43PM
Everyone seems to be bringing out the big gun late October. Not everyone is going to be able to fly past the turnstile at once. Some games might not get the sales they deserve/expect.
Cutty @ Aug 7th 2008 8:09PM
So British developers Lionhead make the game and it gets released in the US first? Ah well, at least it's only a three-day gap.
