No shit, track-packs like these make me want to run straight to the store and go buy 360 + Rock Band. Megadeth, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, and Devildriver? WIN.

Good list, but out of all the Dream Theater songs they could have chosen, they chose that one? Bleh. Oh well, it still rocks.

Dream Theater! That's way better than the song they have on the RB2 disc. I'm still hoping for Under A Glass Moon though. That'd be such an awesome song for all instruments.

Also, I really hope it isn't the version of the song in the video. The album verson of the DT song is 2 minutes longer and has some extra solos which are really good.

I know Harmonix is against charting keyboard in Rock Band, but they NEED to chart Jordan's keyboard solo. It would be amazing!

Jordan has a tendancy to "merge" and play like a guitar under effects. A great example is Fatal Tragedy. Someone I know didn't even catch the Guitar-keyboard transition as an instrument switch. They thought it was just Petrucci laying down some effects.

And even if they did do Fatal Tragedy, I would want them to chart the keyboard. The end of the Guitar solo has so much momentum heading to the keyboarad that going back to the main riff would actually let me down. Anyway, back to Constant Motion.

Not their best song, but I am sure it will be fun to play. Out of the songs on Systematic Chaos(The only DT album under the Roadrunner label), this is the one to choose.

Although, Systematic Chaos was not as good as their other albums.

I just want When Day and Dream Unite, Images and Words, Awake, A Change of Seasons, Scenes from a Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Train of Thought, and Octavarium as full album DLC.

Eh, what the hell, through Falling into Infinity and Systematic Chaos in there as well. Live in Budokan and Score would kick ass too.

Fuck, just put the whole discography up there!

I would kill to play Petrucci's closing solo in the Live in Tokyo version of Take the Time!

Sweet, "My Curse" is probably my most played bonus song in GH3, It's pretty fun... except that ending on expert... the rest of the song is easy, just that last part I pass 50/50...

I found it the least fun song (well, not the LEAST but still not fun). All that strumming, all that repetetivity. Give me Cult of Personality or something with sweet sounding solos instead.

I guess I'm the only that thinks this is a total fuking rip off?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't put these songs on your mp3 player which means paying full price for tracks just for this game. Which sucks even more if you've already paid for the tracks and have to pay again. Doesn't seem like much but the cost starts adding up having to pay for music both for your a) ipod and b) rock band.

Msoft or EA should've done something like a joint deal with their zune music service (or itunes or something) where you buy songs for the usual dollar and then pay another 20cents or so for the rock band button sequence.

This whole music gaming thing is gonna b a huge cluster fuk once all these companies start releasing the same tracks for their own software.

It's a rip-off if you actually paid for the mp3's. :P

Honestly though think you're asking for a bit much? I mean everytime a service offers somebodies music a buttload of people gotta get paid before iTunes, Harmonix, or Activision can put this stuff up. So say Harmonix did a joint thing with iTunes you'd have to charge so much that it makes more sense to download separately.

Especially because Harmonix ask for so much more than Apple. Harmonix needs master tracks and they need permission to edit the original work where they see fit. They need music sheets, conversion hardware for older masters, and the effort it takes to chart some of the more complex stuff. They need much more flexibility than a simple music download service needs.

do you have any idea how much work it takes to put these songs into rock band?

mix the song off the masters, create note charts for four different instruments and make sure they're fun, separate each track on a note-by-note basis so that if you miss one it doesn't play, arrange energy phrases and decide star cutoffs strategically, coordinate lighting, filters, camera angles, character animations...

yea, i'd say $1 a song is pretty damn cheap.

That airbourne song is so catchy it's unfair. Also, considering that megadeth (at least Mustaine) is into his 40s and supposedly declining their last album was superb compared to most other modern day bands and Sleepwalker is a fantastic song.

What's your definition of metal then?

Let's see:
- Airbourne: Don't know them, but judging from the video they could be called Hard Rock but Heavy Metal would fit, too.
- DevilDriver: Melodic Death Metal
- Dream Theater: Progressive Metal
- Killswitch Engage: Metalcore
- Machine Head: Thrash Metal
- Megadeth: Speed/Heavy Metal

IMO there is enough Metal in that package ;)
