Wow. Awesome.

MUSE! Oh wait, just some other great songs. *sigh*
jsn @ Aug 8th 2008 3:50PM
sweet!
LordChimp @ Aug 8th 2008 3:50PM
Times like this, I wish I had Rock Band :(
Jevanzz @ Aug 8th 2008 4:50PM
Times like this, I wish they'd hurry the FUCK UP and release it for PS3 in Europe! Nah, I bet America gets RB2 before we get RB1...
KrazyIan @ Aug 8th 2008 6:53PM
No shit, track-packs like these make me want to run straight to the store and go buy 360 + Rock Band. Megadeth, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, and Devildriver? WIN.
Haggard @ Aug 8th 2008 8:23PM
/thirded
I got it imported the other week but can't get the DLC.
RELEASE IT IN FUCKING EUROPE YOU BUNCH OF MICROSOFT-CONTROLLED awesome developers!
Rollins @ Aug 8th 2008 3:50PM
Good list, but out of all the Dream Theater songs they could have chosen, they chose that one? Bleh. Oh well, it still rocks.
Skunk Ape @ Aug 8th 2008 4:08PM
its a roadrunner pack and systematic chaos is the only cd theyve released on roadrunner.
Rollins @ Aug 8th 2008 4:16PM
Even still, there's better songs on that CD.
Heh {XBL: P4nic 4tt4ck} @ Aug 8th 2008 5:01PM
FOREVER MORE, INTO THE NIGHT.
Come on, I'd love to scream out that part. :P
ApolloIV @ Aug 8th 2008 7:03PM
Because Honor Thy Father was originally on the disc and BAM games that tried to load it would explode.
myles_sauer @ Aug 8th 2008 3:51PM
Megadeth and Airbourne? Awesome. Runnin' Wild is a great song. Should be fun.
Timett @ Aug 8th 2008 3:52PM
Dream Theater! That's way better than the song they have on the RB2 disc. I'm still hoping for Under A Glass Moon though. That'd be such an awesome song for all instruments.
Timett @ Aug 8th 2008 3:55PM
Also, I really hope it isn't the version of the song in the video. The album verson of the DT song is 2 minutes longer and has some extra solos which are really good.
Hafk @ Aug 9th 2008 1:11AM
I know Harmonix is against charting keyboard in Rock Band, but they NEED to chart Jordan's keyboard solo. It would be amazing!
Jordan has a tendancy to "merge" and play like a guitar under effects. A great example is Fatal Tragedy. Someone I know didn't even catch the Guitar-keyboard transition as an instrument switch. They thought it was just Petrucci laying down some effects.
And even if they did do Fatal Tragedy, I would want them to chart the keyboard. The end of the Guitar solo has so much momentum heading to the keyboarad that going back to the main riff would actually let me down. Anyway, back to Constant Motion.
Not their best song, but I am sure it will be fun to play. Out of the songs on Systematic Chaos(The only DT album under the Roadrunner label), this is the one to choose.
Although, Systematic Chaos was not as good as their other albums.
I just want When Day and Dream Unite, Images and Words, Awake, A Change of Seasons, Scenes from a Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Train of Thought, and Octavarium as full album DLC.
Eh, what the hell, through Falling into Infinity and Systematic Chaos in there as well. Live in Budokan and Score would kick ass too.
Fuck, just put the whole discography up there!
Bacon @ Aug 9th 2008 12:11PM
They're against charting keyboard solos? Have you seen Smokin'? You play a damn ORGAN solo.
Anam @ Aug 8th 2008 3:55PM
Damnit! Another Dream Theater song and still no Take the Time. I really, really want Take the Time.
Hafk @ Aug 9th 2008 1:16AM
I do too.... are you thinking specifically of the live in tokyo version like I am?
I would kill to play Petrucci's closing solo in the Live in Tokyo version of Take the Time!
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 9th 2008 9:02AM
and I want Home!!!
Pierce @ Aug 8th 2008 3:59PM
Since when did you start using the MS points logo?
Raikage (GOLDEN Gun Of The Patriots) @ Aug 8th 2008 4:04PM
Sweet, "My Curse" is probably my most played bonus song in GH3, It's pretty fun... except that ending on expert... the rest of the song is easy, just that last part I pass 50/50...
Haggard @ Aug 8th 2008 8:25PM
I found it the least fun song (well, not the LEAST but still not fun). All that strumming, all that repetetivity. Give me Cult of Personality or something with sweet sounding solos instead.
Kevin Hummons @ Aug 8th 2008 4:04PM
Oh sweet, sweet, Constant Motion. The one instance I hope Harmonix does let you play the keyboard.
deaftly @ Aug 8th 2008 4:04PM
Machine Head! AWESOME.
Nutchos @ Aug 8th 2008 4:05PM
I guess I'm the only that thinks this is a total fuking rip off?
Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't put these songs on your mp3 player which means paying full price for tracks just for this game. Which sucks even more if you've already paid for the tracks and have to pay again. Doesn't seem like much but the cost starts adding up having to pay for music both for your a) ipod and b) rock band.
Msoft or EA should've done something like a joint deal with their zune music service (or itunes or something) where you buy songs for the usual dollar and then pay another 20cents or so for the rock band button sequence.
This whole music gaming thing is gonna b a huge cluster fuk once all these companies start releasing the same tracks for their own software.
DarkPassion @ Aug 8th 2008 4:12PM
It's a rip-off if you actually paid for the mp3's. :P
Honestly though think you're asking for a bit much? I mean everytime a service offers somebodies music a buttload of people gotta get paid before iTunes, Harmonix, or Activision can put this stuff up. So say Harmonix did a joint thing with iTunes you'd have to charge so much that it makes more sense to download separately.
Especially because Harmonix ask for so much more than Apple. Harmonix needs master tracks and they need permission to edit the original work where they see fit. They need music sheets, conversion hardware for older masters, and the effort it takes to chart some of the more complex stuff. They need much more flexibility than a simple music download service needs.
thebluelizard @ Aug 8th 2008 4:15PM
do you have any idea how much work it takes to put these songs into rock band?
mix the song off the masters, create note charts for four different instruments and make sure they're fun, separate each track on a note-by-note basis so that if you miss one it doesn't play, arrange energy phrases and decide star cutoffs strategically, coordinate lighting, filters, camera angles, character animations...
yea, i'd say $1 a song is pretty damn cheap.
jsn @ Aug 8th 2008 4:42PM
nutchos is a douche.
Desert Eagle @ Aug 9th 2008 12:15AM
Nutchos, what the blue hell crawled up your ass and died?
Skunk Ape @ Aug 8th 2008 4:07PM
damn... no opeth or cavalera conspiracy. still pretty good though.
Shad3Wolf @ Aug 8th 2008 4:08PM
I wonder if this will be the album version of My Curse that's used in Burnout Paradise, or the terrible radio edit version in GH3...
thebluelizard @ Aug 8th 2008 4:15PM
they've really ramped up the DLC lately to compete with GHWT and get people hyped for RB2. i approve.
giantenemycrab @ Aug 8th 2008 4:17PM
HOLY CRAP DREAM THEATER!! yes!!
ymmv @ Aug 8th 2008 4:19PM
Damn, I wish I could get some Dream Theater songs for GH ...
BTW working link for Constant Motion:

tmacairjordan87 @ Aug 8th 2008 4:31PM
That airbourne song is so catchy it's unfair. Also, considering that megadeth (at least Mustaine) is into his 40s and supposedly declining their last album was superb compared to most other modern day bands and Sleepwalker is a fantastic song.
Steph @ Aug 8th 2008 4:36PM
Megadeth!!! yippee!!!
Now we just need a dedicated Megadeth Pack with some of their hits (hell just give us the complete discography - yes even Risk) and I'll be in heaven.
Heh {XBL: P4nic 4tt4ck} @ Aug 8th 2008 4:59PM
WE need return to hanger.
Screw the singer
Travis @ Aug 8th 2008 4:56PM
This list is pretty awesome, I'm still hopen for some Opeth love. :(
Heh {XBL: P4nic 4tt4ck} @ Aug 8th 2008 5:01PM
Still waiting for The Glass Prison.
Come on Harmonix...
Actual Metal Fan @ Aug 8th 2008 5:05PM
More Metal?
I think only one, maybe two of those bands are actually metal.
Iceman346 @ Aug 8th 2008 6:01PM
What's your definition of metal then?
Let's see:
- Airbourne: Don't know them, but judging from the video they could be called Hard Rock but Heavy Metal would fit, too.
- DevilDriver: Melodic Death Metal
- Dream Theater: Progressive Metal
- Killswitch Engage: Metalcore
- Machine Head: Thrash Metal
- Megadeth: Speed/Heavy Metal
IMO there is enough Metal in that package ;)
Actual Metal Fan @ Aug 8th 2008 6:43PM
Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater = Baby "Metal"
Dovi @ Aug 8th 2008 7:26PM
DevilDriver is Groove Metal, not melodic death...
loof @ Aug 8th 2008 5:17PM
meh, I'm not a big fan of metal. Moar 90s Alt Rock Please.
OTAM @ Aug 9th 2008 8:47PM
It's about time we got something different from 90's rock pack #3258295.
Heavy fucking metal. We stick together.
MasterInsan0 @ Aug 8th 2008 5:17PM
Yes. Very much yes. This might be the best pack they've ever released.
Anthony @ Aug 8th 2008 5:38PM
ugh i hate that version of "my curse" hopefully we get the album version instead.
KEFIOX @ Aug 8th 2008 5:51PM
Fuck Yeah I'm downloading all of it next week. I can't wait. Easily the best week for me in a long time.
Jared @ Aug 8th 2008 6:06PM
Hell yeah! Sleepwalker. Get some more Megadeth songs in there and we'll be set. Greatest metal band of all time.
