The Mario Scarf: Wear World 1-1 around your neck

Here's a way to show you care: an Atlanta, GA schoolteacher (and obsessive knitter) is recreating World 1-1 in scarf form (based on this map from Ian Albert). The plan is, once she finishes, she and her boyfriend will get engaged. You can follow along with her progress at the aptly-titled The Mario Scarf Blog, with an FAQ found here. Now, if only there was a World 1-2 belt to go along with it ...

That's funny, Mario went to the moon in Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door for the GC. After Mario Galaxies, I think he needs to go to the netherworld next. Maybe give him a couple chain swords like Kratos. Let's see what Nintendo does with that!

I have to give her mad props for this scarf! I do have to agree, who's going to wear one this long, but turn this sucker into a blanket and that would be amazing!

Yeah, I bet she pulls a Penelope on him and un-knits the stitches every night while he's asleep, to buy her time while her real husband is making his way all over hell and creation to come back to her.

Originally she was knitting 8-4 because she wanted to recreate the epic final battle which symbolized the struggle with the things keeping her from getting married. Unfortunately she took several wrong turns during the maze portion and repeatedly sewed the same section of scarf until she ran out of time.
