I'm not really a fan of running around a field patting other men on the butt, I think I'll give it a miss again this year.

i'm not 100% positive but I think Madden has yet to at least let us control the rampant ass-slapping. I don't even recall if they do that in the game. I'll not be picking this up like i've not ever bought a madden game. What's on the PSN this week PSF?

Do people here in Europe actually buy American Football games?

Seriously, the Superbowl is probably the single most interrupted-by-adverts programme to be shown annually on TVs outside the USA. There's not even enough time to make tea! How anyone could get into it is beyond me. (Humorous, *nudge, nudge*)

Anyway, no, here, mostly people are into (humour again ->) real football. I just thought it'd be interesting to know I wrong I am.

My brother bought one for the x-box maybe in 2004 or something, I don't know why, I think it was pre-owned and cheap so he got it as a joke and played it like twice with some sort of apparent enthusiasm, but since then I haven't met anyone who actually likes it because they prefer the football you actually use your feet for :I

I'm barely interested in Soccer (as our fellow Americans call it) to even get interested in American football.

I don't understand the rules of American football, it puzzles me.

i can’t wait , i love American football , I’m a huge fantasy football type of guy and I’m thinking about the whole fantasy football team thing which is awesome. But im not so much into soccer , when I was really really young I played it and when I got older I watched my friends play it in high school , never in college , due to the fact both colleges I have been to are just women’s soccer. Soccer its just not that exiting to me

the thing is, over in europe we have the same sport, only we call it rugby.

American football = rugby for wimps :)

Right, and I'm sure 350 lb+ american football players who can run like hell are scared to play rugby...

I watch American Football (Go Chargers!!!) and used to play Madden until the 2K series blew it out of the water, now I can't go back to Madden even though it's the only option.

I'm from New Zealand, and even though we get schooled in every Rugby World Cup, we're considered to be a rugby nation, basically if you know anything about Rugby you would have heard about our national team the All Blacks....

I wouldn't say American Football is for wimps, they hit pretty hard. But they hit hard in rugby to.....only without pads :P

Haven't played any of the madden games since they were on super nintendo (madden 94 I believe). Quite a bit has changed since then but I'm still going to pass on this one and wait for NHL 09 instead.

I will be picking this up, but I am very disappointed in the lack of Trophy support.

EA needs to patch this one quickly, or I will be trading it in for Blitz.

I'm mildly curious about playing an American Football game, but I wouldn't lay down £40 to satisfy that curiosity.

Mind you, if someone remade Cyberball that'd be another matter entirely.

This one I am actually some what interested in. I loved the Snes installments. I haven't been able to get into them since then. The training modes might help that in this one.

BTW Unless you've played American Football with full pads, you cannot compare Rugby with it. While Rugby is a game for men, Football hitting is in a different stratosphere than it. The addition of a hard plastic helmet makes it much more devastating. We also have a football with out pads, its called 6 on 6.

I normally hate Madden football games. I am a 2k football fan but I actually can't wait to get this Madden version. Still no refs in screenshots. no chaingangs, etc. But it's the NFL. I crave to play as my fave NFL team instead of a ficticious, made up team. I can't wait. and I am much, much older than the average gamer on this site. EA sports seems to be trying to do better...just in baby steps,

How much does a professional Rugby player get paid as compared to an NFL player???
