Much like the endless assault of the franchise's squirrely squares, devious diamonds and annoying arrows, Geometry Wars is sure to keep gamers frantically twiddling their thumbsticks for some time to come. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, geometric warlord Stephen Cakebread has assured fans that the creative team hasn't run out of ideas yet.
"We have enough game ideas to do 'Geometry Wars' for probably about 10 games," said Cakebread. "It depends on what will work." Things that didn't work and ended up being removed from Geometry Wars 2: Gimmicky multiplayer modes, such as a a soccer/football-style game that had players shooting objects into gravity-well goals. Things that might work in the future: Developer Bizarre Creations isn't saying, as it might "use them in the future for god knows what."
Things that work in today's industry: Good franchises! "Geometry Wars is definitely a franchise," noted Bizarre manager Craig Howard. "It's not going to stop." Well, not unless you release a bomb.

I spent many hours over the weekend playing this game and thought of quite a few gameplay types that could be added.
Soccer/football doesn't sound good...

I just hope the next *good* Geometry Wars isn't another two years away...

You mean three? Geometry Wars 1 debuted with the Xbox 360 in late 2005.
Two years would be better!

What's your problem FAT? It's a great game and it's really cheap if you think how much games cost these days. So I say you should just get the F**K over it because they're not going to lower the price because you complain.

"Gotta stick with the tradition of adding $5 dollars every time."
You couldn't be more wrong. The Geo Wars games have been pricing according to content. If you'd been paying attention you'd know that Geometry Wars 2 is a $20 step down from Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the Wii and the DS. Galaxies cost $30 because it was LOADED with content, and Geo Wars 2 is $10 because it has a lot more content than the first game, but not nearly as much as galaxies.

You heard it here first: Calculus Wars confirmed for 2009!
And if that doesn't screw with your mind, the upcoming Probability Wars (Spring 2010) and Differential Equations Wars (Summer 2011) will really test your skills!

Xbox Live support? I hope so. I was really depressed to find out that there wasn't and they were adding multiplayer. v.v

Xbox LIVE play would suffer from lag. Since whatever you do ingame would suffer from latency, those pixel-perfect piloting and shooting skills you really need for high scores changes much more to luck. I don't really want any form of Geometry Wars gameplay to change from skill to luck.
Well, that and keeping state of all those nasties, bullets, geoms and players positions between consoles easily would be technically hard.

GW1 @ $5
GW2 @ $10
GW2 is a giant leap compared to GW1. I wish it had multi over Live but that doesn't take away from the fact that the game is awesome (if you're a GW fan).
They could charge $20 for GW3; if they put Live play and a couple more game modes, I wouldn't complain one bit. Add more and I'll pay more...no question.

Geometry War 2's an infiltration unit, part man, part videogame. Underneath, it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis - microprocessor-controlled, fully armored. Very tough. But outside, it's living human tissue - flesh, skin, hair, blood, grown for the vector graphics...Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved had rubber skin. We beat it easy. But these are new, they look human. Sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to beat... Listen, and understand! Geometry Wars 2 is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are DEAD!
