New games this week: Madden '09

You can feel it in the frat house rec rooms. It's positively electric in the dormitories. You can sense the excitement in the living room of that guy you work with at Arby's who probably hasn't turned his 360 on since last time this year: It's Madden 09 week. As you can probably guess, it's enough to net him the featured spot.

It's not as though he's completely uncontested, though. PC players get to look forward to Gas Powered Games' Space Siege and DS and Wii's Line Rider sequel looks like fun, though decidedly less free than its Flash counterpart. Check out the full list after the break.

actually, I didn't say There IS nothing to play, just I HAVE nothing to play :) bsides I ownn crackdown and TF2 and love em it's just I have all the achievements in crackdown and TF2 matchmaking never seems to work, I have $20 in gamestop credit I'm gonna see what I can buy (not braid)

BC rearmed doesn't come to ps3 this week? i kinda want madden. haven't play in a couple years and haven't bought one since snes.

i was wondering about that too. i think he made that mistake when 1942 came out too. oh well, hopefully it comes with a demo so i can test that bad boy out before i throw my money at it.

dude watch the numbers. this game will sell a ridiculous amount. even if it is the same rehashed, buggy game every year.

hell my 17 year old younger brother took off work for 2 days so he can play it. i mean im a football fanatic and everything (go Cowboys) but i just cant make myself buy that game anymore, it is teh suck.

This week's all about Bangai-O and Strong Bad once I finish getting the Platinum Trophy in Uncharted.

How come you dont have the version for the regular xbox.

I'll be picking up my copy of Madden 09 CE on the 360 tomorrow morning. I'm as excited for Head Coach as I am Madden.

I wonder if the Wii version will fare better than last year's version, which sold least of all supported home consoles (including Xbox 1), and didn't crack the NPD top 10 for the month

This version is getting better recieved critically, along with a better 3rd-party environment altogether on Wii this year

I played the demo (PS3) and it really is a big improvement this year...I would say this is the biggest next-gen leap so far when it comes to graphics and gameplay. I usually never buy Madden 2 years in a row...I skipped out on Madden 07, but I am seriously debating on getting 09- going to wait on more reviews and head-to-heads first.

What are you guys talking about? I could care less that Madden came out... Pshh... I personally think it's about time that 'The Cheetah Girls: Passport to Freedom' has been released. I'm going to take off work to play this ALL DAY.
