PixelJunk Monsters receiving difficulty settings with free patch
After writing an open letter explaining his fiancée's frustrations with PixelJunk Monsters' difficulty, BPPS writer Ryan Hewson received a response back from Dylan Cuthbert, president of Q-Games, saying help was on the way. Cuthbert had alluded to a major PJM patch before, but now he explains some more details of what's coming to PJM and PixelJunk Eden.
The lord of PixelJunk says PJM will receive a free patch adding Trophies, along with Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert difficulties to the game. Online rankings will maintain the existing difficulty level for fairness -- which we guess is hard? Eden will also receive an expansion pack and may receive a "namby pamby mode" for a more casual experience -- we'd settle for some control mapping functions to seperate silk and jump ... not to mention mapping the instra-drop to a button instead of waggle. No dates on any of this, but we're contacting Sony about some form of ETA.

Easier difficulty levels on PJM will be a welcomed addition. A few times I had to resort to youtube to get a rainbow

I was wondering about how you do insta-drop. I meant to look into the control screen but as soon as I turn it on I'm way to into playing to remember.
That said... waggle is insta-drop?
FAILURE
god I hate waggle

My wife just randomly bought this game last night and was playing it til pretty late. I didn't know there were difficulty issues with this. I'll let her know.
On a side note, I like the music in this game. It's catchy.

Pixeljunk Monsters is an awesome game but I don't think that they need to dumb down the difficulty. That is one of the things that makes the game fun. My wife and I love playing this game on co-op and trying new things until we can finally beat a level. I much rather that they release some new maps in the form of DLC.

cool. in the later levels of these games, the difficulty is up there. and i know ill never get all the trophies in Eden if they dont give me a easy mode lol. that game is kicking my ass. ive only 'full clear'-ed garden 1 as of now.

I know how this could be confusing for some of you, but there is absolutely NO reason to complain here. PJM gets another difficulty setting (not mandatory) with Trophies (SWEET!) and Eden is getting more options as well. Carry on.
