Strong Bad burninates WiiWare today
We, like most of you, we'd imagine, have been a little slack in our Homestar Runner patronage in recent years. But we've been visiting lately to get prepped for the game and trust us, it still holds up enough to have us plenty excited for the game. Will you be picking it up? (Update: Our friends at Nintendo Wii Fanboy have a review of the game, calling it a "quite fun and an excellent piece of fan service.")

That has to be the coolest name for a game ever!
j.howlett @ Aug 11th 2008 9:27AM
personally, i give it to Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja ProAm. i think i got it right
Corbo @ Aug 11th 2008 9:42AM
I've still to find a name that tops Samurai Zombie Nation. It's simple, yet surprisingly descriptive. And awesome.
dark_inchworm @ Aug 11th 2008 9:22AM
"It's been delayed more times than we can count with our boxing glove hands"
...it took me a minute, but I see what you did there.

Rats. The one time that something I want comes out for Wii Ware/VC, and I don't have enough points to buy it.
Dr. @ Aug 11th 2008 9:53AM
Preordered it for PC a couple weeks ago. Should be fun, if the Telltale Sam & Max games are any indication.
Kevin @ Aug 11th 2008 9:59AM
Anyone find out how many blocks it takes?
Jon A. @ Aug 11th 2008 10:03AM
300 blocks
Jon A. @ Aug 11th 2008 10:04AM
Which makes it the biggest piece of software in the Wii Shop Channel, I think.
Kevin @ Aug 11th 2008 2:53PM
Yea, I think that's about 50% of the space remaining on my Wii...
I'll wait for it to come to Steam, I guess.
fco. @ Aug 12th 2008 9:45AM
Just curious, what are the benefits of downloading via Steam over doing it through the official website?
Kevin @ Aug 12th 2008 9:00PM
I don't have to keep track of an install file on a CD or my harddrive.
Plus I can put it on any of the 3 computers I own with a double click on Steam.

I already bought my thousand points in anticipation
mr mobius @ Aug 11th 2008 10:12AM
Why must I only have 900 Wii points? Why?
Sledgehammer44mm @ Aug 11th 2008 10:17AM
Has anyone downloaded it yet? I have yet to see it and I stayed up til' midnight and has yet to appear this morning.
samfish @ Aug 11th 2008 10:25AM
I think it goes up at noon EST.
Dopple Boppler @ Aug 11th 2008 10:36AM
I just checked and it's still not up. I think it updates at noon eastern time so wait another hour and a half I guess.
Shadow Hog @ Aug 11th 2008 10:18AM
Bought the PC version two days ago. Eagerly awaiting the ability to DOWNLOAD it now...
Ninegauger @ Aug 11th 2008 10:25AM
It hasn't arrived yet so far as I can tell...
Obie @ Aug 11th 2008 10:35AM
Great I have enough points, but not enough space...the irony! :(
Cheezeman3000 @ Aug 11th 2008 10:51AM
The fact that just the trailer made me literally laugh out loud, and the fact that the trailer only shows a miniscule amount of the gameplay, really makes me excited to download it later today. :)
Hot$auce_Magik @ Aug 11th 2008 11:01AM
I thought for a second tha tthe title of this article was:
"Strong Bad urinates on WiiWare today!"
I giggled...

I would prefer a Teen Girl Squad game - perhaps a four player arcade beat 'em up in the style of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons and X-Men games of the early '90s.
ice~ @ Aug 11th 2008 11:46AM
then try Castle Crashers for the 360, that will more than likely satisfy your beat'em up needs, unless you dont have a 360...:D
Casey @ Aug 11th 2008 5:52PM
I was just telling my partner yesterday that they need to make a Teen Girl Squad/SSX crossover game, because snowboarding + teen girl squad would be awesome.
TheOverlord#2 can has Animals Crossing? @ Aug 11th 2008 1:48PM
I'm pretty sure you can make your own Teen Girl Squad comics in SBCG4AP.
Blazur @ Aug 11th 2008 11:15AM
I'm as big a fan of Homestarrunner as anybody else, but does this game actually look like fun to people based on that video? It looks like it's basically a scripted hunt-and-seek with random character speeches inserted for comedic effect.
Curious to see the reviews on this game.
pavs @ Aug 11th 2008 1:11PM
Is the PC version download only, or can I buy it at BestBuy/Gamestop?
fco. @ Aug 12th 2008 9:39AM
It's download only for now, but if you buy the full season bundle, you get a free disk with all the episodes and probably some bonus material.
Jfk Aok @ Aug 11th 2008 12:07PM
Didn't make me laugh or even smile once. I guess it's about 5 years too late for me.
...that and I'll hold up for Tim Schafer's next project to get my humor/adventure fix.
Spooky @ Aug 11th 2008 1:05PM
I agree with you, this game isn't funny at all. Example of a joke that it would have would be like, " Finding the key in this level is like finding a needle in a haystack. (camera pans to a haystack) ...No, I found the needle in that one already." Its humor is obviously for a very specific group of people. At least the graphics look nice and colorful.

Don't worry there are plenty of us who haven't been brainwashed by that website who also don't find it funny. The good news is, now that its released, the blogs will have no reason to talk about it anymore as it fades into obscurity.
Jhongerkong @ Aug 11th 2008 6:12PM
FUCK U NINTENDO I AINT BUYIN NOTHIN TILL U RELEASE A HARD DRIVE FUCKING SHIT.

Add Strong Bad to the rather large list of shticks that have run their course.
