Virtual Console breaks in Star Soldier spoof
Break it to Make it! Did you hear? This week's Virtual Console update includes a video game adaptation of 80s dance flick, Breakin'. Finally we can live out our closet fantasies of break dancing in the shoes of Kelly, Ozone and -- personal fave -- Turbo. Oh, wait, that's not what the game is about? Monday mornings are so cruel.
- Break In (TurboGrafx16, 1-4 players, 700 Wii Points): No, there's no fancy footwork here. Instead, Nintendo offers up this decidedly break dance-free game of pool. So, yeah, it's pool.
- Star Parodier (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 900 Wii Points): Well, at least this is something to get excited over. A parody of Hudson shooter Star Soldier, here you'll be able to fly about and shoot down colorful bad guys as Star Soldier's Paro Ceaser, iconic pyro Bomberman, or a giant flying PC Engine that shoots cards and discs at enemies. That almost makes up for this morning's dissapointment.

I do wonder why:
Super Punch Out! (SNES)
Star Fox (SNES)
Pilotwings (SNES)
and the uber classic: Mario Kart (SNES)
Haven't come out yet, I mean, doesn't Nintendo like my money? :(
Zertoss @ Aug 11th 2008 9:59AM
They're trying to slow down the incoming flow of money so they can finish building an exact replica of Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin.

No, they're slowing the influx of money down because the secret moon base they have can no longer store the amount of money they have, so they are teaming up with Galactus to build the planet Taa II, so Galactus' hunger will always be maintained and Nintendo has a planet to store all of their $$$$$...if only Galactus new that Nintendo was going to turn their back on him and steal his Power Cosmic to create their new system the Nintendo Yayyyyy and market it to all the weak minded casual gamers, then use it to manipulate their minds and take over the entire universe and put an end to the world as we know it to form their own Galactic Empire, where everyone will be forced to waggle sticks for fun and have a giant statue of Satura Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto on their front lawns...
GOD...dont u read nintendo power???

I was more excited for last week's list.
The fictional one, I mean. Last week sucked like usual.
This week pretty much sucks, too.
Hell, EVERY week sucks...doubly so compared to the Japanese VC releases.

I dunno. I played through Sexy Parodius co-op this weekend, so I'm willing to give Star Paroder a run-through. Granted, they've blown a lot of their really good releases in the past, but this one (and Strong Bad) look like they'll at the very least bring teh fünni.

If you want 9 bucks worth of funni, go see Pineapple Express, and leave this game on the virtual shelf, where it belongs.

"Star Parodier is not only one of the best cute'em-ups ever created, it's also one of the best shooters ever made as well. Combining sugary sweet visuals, a stunning musical score, and some of the most responsive play control ever found in a shooter, Star Parodier proves that video game spoofs can be every bit as good, if not better, than the games they're spoofing."

What is wrong with you guys? Not only has Star Parodier never seen the light of day in North America until today, it's one very awesome game.
