So wait, the "issues" preventing this game from being released on VC may be content based? So back in the 80s when the game was approved by the super anal scrutinizing and anti "anything almost considered bad" Nintendo but now its no longer ok? That's just sad Nintendo!

Maybe it's because Nintendo didn't like the shape of the soldiers' helmets. That may be the case. Isn't speculation fun? :)

The content of Big Beach Sports is far more offensive and that was allowed a full retail release!

Geez... why don't you guys have a new column named "Virtually Impossible" to tell us about all of the good games that we're never going to see on the VC?

I'm going to take a W.AG. and say it's because of the Nazi Regalia throughout the game and the end sequence when Hilter's head explodes.

A re-release of the game would likely require these things to be removed and Capcom doesn't want to spend the time, resources, and money to re-engineer the game. As the number of expected sales on the VC probably wouldn't be enough to be be worth it.

I can't say I blame them.

Nintendo did it with WaveRace 64, since the original game was sponsored by Yamaha, they had to take all that imagery out to re-release it

It would be even easier, i imagine, in an 8-bit game

Nintendo banned the use of Hitler-named Mii's in Mario Kart as well... though other names are just fine. Buncha damn Hitlerphobes if you ask me...

I see absolutely nothing objectionable about shooting zombie Hitler in the face. In fact, any game that depicts the use of force to depose tyranny is awesome. Bad form, Nintendo.
