Fanswag: USA Today Crossword Challenge

You know what gets taken for granted a lot? The morning crossword. Seriously, it seems like nobody opens up the paper anymore and sits down with their breakfast and enjoys a crossword puzzle. It seems everyone is nuts for this Sudoku thing. Well, we're trying to bring back the crossword, baby!

This week, we're unloading USA Today Crossword Challenge onto 5 lucky readers. That's right, we've got 5 copies (each valued at $20) of the game. How can you enter for a chance at one of these? Easy, leave a comment telling us the last time you sat down and did a crossword!

You can leave one comment per day and the contest will be closing on Sunday, August 17th at 11:59PM ET. The giveaway is open to folks 18 years of age or older and all entrants must be current and legal residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). It's been a while since I discovered Sudoku :P

I did a cross the other week on an app in Facebook. Now the last time that I completed on - that's another story.

The last time I did a crossword was when the DS downloads first became available on the Wii; I tried out CrossworDS.

Can't really remember the last time I did a Sudoku either. I burned out on them. :/

I'd love to give this a try. I wasn't very impressed with CrossworDS crossword puzzles (we play the anagrams game much more).

It probably would've been like, the day before I sold CrossworDS. That game was a good busrider; but it was just too damn easy!
I know that the next difficulties were likely much more tantalizing, but the first mode was way too simple - and the repeat of words was a major drag.
It's a quality game, but man was it slow.

Last time I did one was while I was visiting my mother in the hospital. Not sure why it is, but I always end up doing word puzzles (crossword, word search, etc) when I'm in the hospital or visiting someone there.

I really enjoy doing crossword puzzles with me wife....

I did one yesterday - it was online, but hey, it counts!

i haven't played any crossword puzzles in a while, maybe since i was in hs which was about 6 yrs ago

I do crosswords every morning out of a small pocket crossword book. It is a fantastic way to start the day out right! (And probably cheaper than coffee.)

I did a crossword last week.

A couple of nights ago, playing New York Times Crosswords on DS.

On my DS, about a week. On paper? Ummm... many years.

Yikes, probably a couple years ago while visiting my parents.

I help my wife with hers while I do my Sudoku/Kakuro, if that helps.

It doesn't help her so much, since I'm no good at crosswords.

Yesterday. On the can. CrossworDS is a godsend for those extended visits. :)

I can't even remember the last time I did a crossword, but I really like them. My girlfriend likes them too, so I hope to win it for her.

Sweet, I was just eyeing this yesterday. I do crosswords infrequently in the washroom.

Years and years ago.

Maaaany years ago, while waiting to get my hair done. My mother lent me her clipboard because I'd forgotten my word seeks.

Since I don't know much about famous people or their quotes, even getting a few answers was very difficult!

Last night when I was playing with my New York Times Crossword Puzzle DS!

We love the crosswords over here, but the last time I did one was about a month ago, during a lunchbreak at my last job. It's been a bit busy.

Man, I haven't done a crossword since cross-country family vacations in junior high. I'm starting to take more interest in puzzles of all kinds as I get older, though - this looks like a great title.

This morning, LA Times online. WHAT.

Yesterday on Crosswords DS

Last week when I did the one in the back of People Magazine or something. Embarassing? Yes. Better than doing nothing on my break? Hmm...maybe it's just embarassing.

i am actually doing one right now and got stuck so went on the internet to find an answer and ended up looking around my usual other sites out of boredom

Wootage! I do the NY Times crosswords on the DS before bed (if I'm not playing Shiren) and print ones every week in the Times magazine.

Last time for me was this morning...on CrossworDS.

I do crosswords every day. I read three newspapers every day, and my wife is a complete freak about crosswords, so we've got a couple books laying around. Plus I have a copy of CrossworDS for the DS. I didn't know there was more than one crosswords video game. That's insane. Now if only someone would make a logic puzzle game. Man I love those.

It was probably almost a year now. Sudoku has been taking over for a while.

Gasp! I loved crosswords! They killed time so well in class.

Don't even remember. Dont get a paper anymore so dont come across em often

In college; the crossword in the Iowa State Daily gave me much comfort during boring lectures.

I think it was the last time I was in the doctor's office, which was a long time ago.

Actually, just this past Saturday night, while my girlfriend and I were waiting for her brother's kids to go to bed.

Man, I remember having a little stack of these when I was younger! I used to pick them up every once in a while from the counter at the supermarket. So, I'll say it's been a good handful of years now!

I just did one yesterday.

When I downloaded the CrossworDS demo. It was pretty okay. I had fun but there were a couple of super obscure words that no amount of hinting could get me through. I suck.

About a week ago, but it was on my DS....
