Fanswag: USA Today Crossword Challenge

You know what gets taken for granted a lot? The morning crossword. Seriously, it seems like nobody opens up the paper anymore and sits down with their breakfast and enjoys a crossword puzzle. It seems everyone is nuts for this Sudoku thing. Well, we're trying to bring back the crossword, baby!

This week, we're unloading USA Today Crossword Challenge onto 5 lucky readers. That's right, we've got 5 copies (each valued at $20) of the game. How can you enter for a chance at one of these? Easy, leave a comment telling us the last time you sat down and did a crossword!

You can leave one comment per day and the contest will be closing on Sunday, August 17th at 11:59PM ET. You're right. I haven't done a crossword in forever. But with this DS game at my disposal, that would surely change.

Man, I haven't done a crossword since cross-country family vacations in junior high. I'm starting to take more interest in puzzles of all kinds as I get older, though - this looks like a great title.

Few years now, but I used to love crossword puzzles as a kid! Yeah!

The last crossword I did was yesterday at work.

Many years ago...

I started doing crosswords when i was about 14 - my grandma did them and so i started - i now do them daily

umm... when I downloaded the sample of CrossworDS on my DS from the wii.... yay wii.

I do them every morning when I have breakfast and often other meals as well. My parents are/were huge crossword puzzle freaks so I got in the habit of having a book of puzzles in front of me when I sit to eat.

I really need to find a newspaper.

Waaaaay too long ago.

I picked up my parents at the airport last night, an behold! My dad had been doing a crossword on the plane. So I took a look.

This morning. I do the crossword every day in the NY Times. It's a wonderful way to start off the day...

My last crossword that I completed was back in High School as a "fun" review for a test. The last one I tried was CrossworDS when it was the DSDL on Wii.

I last did a Crossword puzzle about a few months ago.

What the heck, did the paper one in USA Today. So it's been about 8 hrs.

It's been like, 10 years. o.O Would love to do it on DS though.

I attempted to do the crosswords this morning but then the phone rang.

Wait, actually!

Someone made a rather silly online crossword where the answers were all shooter related -- i.e. "Very popular game made by Treasure which can sell for hundreds of dollars" (Radiant Silvergun)

I couldn't finish it all though. A few of the hints were incorrect, and I was unfamiliar with a lot of the games and companies (i.e. the ones that stopped making games before I started playing them, and most of the older 3D shooters -- yuck)

Yesterday

A few years ago. I used to love these as a kid. Had a small stack of them, some finished, some not. Gimme this game, man!

Years ago

Yesterday the daily crossword had a majority of clues that involve people. Most of them were notable for things before I was born, how am I supposed to know all that?

It couldn't be more than a year ago, but still not very recently. I used to be pretty good at them though.

The last crossword I gave a try to was CrossWorDS, I could use more practice, if only so I could fill out the ones in the paper before anyone else.

I last did a crossword puzzle a few months ago.

Still no new crosswords

I'm always doing a crossword puzzle, in my heart.

I helped my wife do one about a month ago. She loves crosswords, and I think this might be one of those few games that would appeal to her.
