The upcoming PSN-exclusive follow-up to the successful Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be available for the masses soon: August 21st, to be exact. Many have been wondering how large the download would be, considering Tools of Destruction took advantage of the incredible space offered by Blu-ray. Those interested in downloading the upcoming game should know that Quest for Booty clocks in at slightly over 2GB, or 2.3GB to be precise.
While that's a large download, that's only slightly larger than most episodes of Qore and a few demos. Hopefully, it'll take longer to play the game (about 3-4 hours) than it does to download it.

4 hours of gameplay with cutscene includes? or just pure gameplay without the cutscene?

Good thing we don't have that ridiculous size limit Live has.

With networking advancing as much as it is I'm glad that Sony isn't going the Live route and can offer games like this that would never be possible for retail.....

Uhh.. There's games on LIVE that are 6-10 hours long sometimes..

Actually I would say "Hey at least we don't have the ridiculously expensive and overpriced crapoholic drives 360 has. 250 dollars for 500 GB is infinately better than 180 dollars for 120GB Microsoft asks for. There was no reason for Microsuck to do that. They specialize in computer software, yet they force proprietary drives, while the company that produces great hardware, is focusing on making more money off of software by providing open ended hardware solutions...

I agree with that a lot.. Though, most XBLA games take only up to 250mb? So it's not too much of a hassle.

This seems really cool. Kudos to Sony on when they offer on the PSN. Off topic look at the aerosmith giveaway post. 330 comments lol It's like they only come around when there is something to be won :)

FTD was short as it is. Me and my kids beat it the first week we bought it. But for 15 bucks you can't go wrong.

I love how $15 for this game is completely fair to PS3 owners, but 360 owners have been complaining about $15 for Braid :]

I'm glad i have a PS3 and can enjoy downloadable 5 hour games for cheap. M$ keeps saying that downloading games is the future, yet they have a size limit on games and Sony has already started doing downloadable games before M$. It's one of the few things Sony has done right and I'm glad. I see more and more smaller Devs jumping ship to the PS3 for this reason. They don't have to fight over shelf space with a game on the PSN. no cost for disc and packaging.

That's fine for me. If they want their system to collect dust because of their obsession with trophies let them. We'll enjoy the game while their system collects dust.

I hope the have a blu-ray version for like $25 because I like to be able to play something when I buy it not wait 8hrs for it to download (slow connection).

Or you could start the download early , then go to work , play other games , sleep etc .

There IS a disc version, but it's only being released in Europe, which you can just import if you want. I don't know the price, so you'll have to look into that yourself if you're interested.

Awesome. I buy. I wonder if there's anything like in the old Ratchet games where weapons passed into the sequels?

it must be your connection as they are as fast as anything else is on my network

Yup, it's your connection. In fact, I couldn't expect MINE to be much faster... It should probably take, maybe 2 hours (give or take).

Lame, I hope it doesn't succeed (it obviously will though). They literally said before "If it does well we will continue with it". I don't want this crappy episodic thing (what Valve has been obsessed with recently). I would rather they just take their time and deliver us a full game a year from now.

The Wii has a download limit of like 60 mbs!!!
Just enough to fit one Strong Bad's Cool Game for attractive people though, which was awesome FYI...
I love not being a fanboy and enjoying multiple systems!
And I will SO be downloading this game on day ONE!

I don't understand this.. They make you pay $60 for the retail game, and they leave you with a cliff-hanger.. THEN they make you pay another $15 to finish it up, and take up another 2.3gb on your HDD.. *sigh*
Posted: Aug 13th 2008 8:23AM (Unverified) said
Yeah its a really lame cash grab, I aint buyin it. The cliffhanger ending was lame anyways.
It wasn't really a cliffhanger because I really didn't give a crap.

Huh? Why would that have anything to do with what I said? So.. because I feel that this is a gimmick (not saying it's a bad game), I must be a hater of the PS3, yeh? Ignorance is bliss I guess.

You've got me wrong. Now, the reason I ask is because you never seem explicit about it.... yet you post comments here quite often. Take a look at your first comment: "you pay" and "your hdd", rather than "I pay", or "my hdd". A little odd, no? But consistent with the things you always have say. There's that, then there's also your always present lack of enthusiasm for anything PS3. I don't have a problem with anyone voicing their displeasure over the PS3 -- but if that someone doesn't even have a PS3, their perspective means very little. Now, just to be clear, you don't seem, to me, to be the fanboy type, but your comments come damn close to being those of a troll.

"You pay" and "Your HDD" refers to people in general? You cant be that paranoid.. it's not healthy

If I was a troll, I wouldn't be wanting to have any relationship to the PS3.. I'm wanting a lot of games for the console.

So, I take that as a "yes"? J/K J/K :) For the record: I've got a 360, myself (didn't get one until earlier in May). And I very much look forward to Alan Wake (I'm a huge fan of Max Payne). We cool?
