John isn't happy with Capcom's Wii titles. "I'm really pissed right now," he writes, firing off lists of all the Capcom IP he's missing out on or forced to sift through (dude, watch where you're listing Neopets!). While the obvious remedy, John, is to take on a few more chores around the house and save up for one of those "high-def systems" (as another poster, Ishaan, calls them), Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, offers a more indolent solution: sit tight.
"We are contemplating versions of one or two of the CEI titles you've mentioned on the Wii (not saying which*)," Sven teases, "but we'd like to see how they do on their initial target systems before doubling down on additional SKUs." Wait, don't you mean dumbing down on additional SKUs?
*But Silconera has a pretty good hunch: Flock, Age of Booty, Dark Void, and Street Fighter IV are Capcom Entertainment Incorporated ("CEI") projects; Flock being the best fit for Wii.

You mean like Zack & Wiki, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, We Love Golf!, and one of their most successful franchises, Monster Hunter 3?

@Noshino
Nice
Anyway
Personally, I don't mind ports, so long as the core game is intact. Dead rising, for example, there are rumors that there will be a severally cut amount of zombies.
Then again, that could be a good thing, making some of those escort missions actually possible without having to trick the game. NO FOLLOW ME, WHY ARE YOU RUNNING OVER THERE, STOP RUNNING INTO THE ZOMBIES. YOU KNOW WHAT, FINE, GET YOUR FACE EATEN.
My favorite time is when I told the one of the survivors to follow me, but instead they ran, to the opposite side of the map, and since the game actually takes some time to load the zombies on to the map "They spawn depending on where you are, no one else matters". They actually made it. So I had to RUN AFTER THEM!!!
I hope they fix the ai.

The sad thing is that you don't realize:
- If you can count all the original titles for a console on two hands, things are sad
- If you can count the titles that don't suck on one finger, things are really sad.
The Wii sucks, like all fads.

Mang, I've been trolling the Wii just as much as any new recruit to the SDF should, and yet even I can say the Wii has a lot more than one good game. Not as many as the other systems, sure, but it's not like it doesn't have ANY games.

None of Noshino's listed titles suck, though...
We Love Golf definitely looks bad, but nails the concept of Wii Golf that Wii Sports promised, Zack and Wiki is brilliant period, RE:UC is a perfect dose of fan-service, and Monster Hunter 3 is almost guaranteed to be good
Either way, you're just doing a poor job of trying to discredit Wii. Try harder. Take cues from tmac, he gets upvoted quite a bit for his anti-Wii rants

Hit the nail on the head there Kahn. I mean, I still like the Wii, it was the first current gen system I bought out of the three and the one I've gotten the most play time out of. You can't blame me for being dissapointed at Nintendo for that awful E3 conference, though, especially after hearing things like 'the core'll be happy about it' and 'we're gonna maximize our key franchises'... shame that Wii Sports = key franchise nowadays, but whatever. At least I still have plenty of DS games and a couple Wii games to look forward to.

Mr. Khan, my purpose was not to "discredit" the Wii, it was just a response to Rob's comment, Capcom hasn't only been providing the Wii with new titles (IPs and spin-offs), but most, if not all, of their Wii titles have been quality titles...
Really, compare the Capcom titles for the Wii with the 360/PS3 ones, if you compare both quantity and quality, their support for the Wii is almost as much, if not more!

Yeah, Capcom pretty much insured Wii's continued success with Monster Hunter 3.
Now lets just see which console gets to have Monster Hunter 4 and god-like status in Japan.

Mario Galaxy and TP had some good lighting effects. So, unless SFIV has lighting effects up the ass, it could be a direct port with lower poly count on the models and textures.
Personally, I want either BC or Lost Planet/Resident Evil 5.

I was about to ask: "What do they have left to port," but you answered my question
Street Fighter IV is the obvious one, i really don't see how that game is so far outside the Wii's range technologically, even as it is.
I'm not trying to trash SFIV, but i would like to see what evidence, beyond resolution, can be provided to conclusively say that those character models look better than, say, Brawl's, which could put four such models on screen at once with no slowdown

It's more the lighting and effects that the Wii may or may not be able to handle, but even without 'em I doubt the game would suffer much. I want it on Wii simply because the Classic Controller has the only D-pad of this generation that's actually worth a damn.

Lost Planet with the RE4 engine, like they are doing with Dead Rising, would be pretty cool. But it would have to have more than just the RE4 engine... and keep online play.

I agree with this right here. Considering how good RE4 looked for a GC game/Wii port, I bet they could pump a little more out of the system and at least have a good looking title in comparison to the versions on the beefier consoles.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wii version of that down the road. Since RE5 looks to play a lot like RE4, just change it from Spain to somewhere in Africa (I forget exactly where), change characters, etc... but running on the same engine. It's easy!

They could work on another VJ (there were supposed to be 3) but it wouldn't be the same since not only Clover closed, but the main people are also gone...

Hit the nail on the head. Just look at RE4 on the Wii, its the redheaded bastard child of the group and was absolutely worse than the GCN or PS2 versions. When I traded it in 2 hours after purchase, I almost demanded that Capcom reimburse me for $30 I spent on that rubbish. I hope they all burn in a fire

*Fingers crossed for Resident Wiivil 5*
Seriously. Even if I had a 360 or PS3, I'd much rather play a Wii version of Resident Evil 5.
