Doh! Fable 2 Pub Games promo codes not working [update 2]

Update 2: All codes should be now working. Pub Games here, we come!

Update: Major Nelson just informed us that the "codes should be working later today" and sends "apologies for the delays." Apology accepted ... this time.

Numerous reports from across the internets - including forums posts on Xbox.com, comments on Major Nelson's website and comments here on X3F - are telling us that the Fable 2 Pub Games free download promo codes aren't working like they should. We're hearing that the Pub Games redemption codes, which are obtained with a Fable 2 pre-order at participating retailers, are returning an "Invalid Code" error response when entered on Xbox Live. Sit tight, don't trash your promo codes just yet and be patient. We'll give you a Pub Games update when we learn more.

PS. An update for your news - they're supposed to send another code in 24-48 hours.

Oh, and the Fable 2 Play and Win link (www.xbox.com/fable2playwin) doesn't work.

I still haven't gotten my code emailed to me from gamestop. Maybe that's for the best as it probably wouldn't work anyway.

Did you order online or in-store? You could always go to a local Gamestop with your receipt and pick up the card for the download.

Same here - ordered online, and no code. Guess I'll sit tight and see what happens given all this craziness w/ the codes not working

I ordered it online, my "Local" gamestop is about an hour away.

You can only get your code from whereever you preordered Fable 2 from - I ordered online, got my email last night.

You didn't get your code yet? You should call GameStop and tell them you never received a code at all.

Oh, man, thank Zeus's beard! I thought I was going to be the only one with this issue.

My code originally didn't work this morning but I tried again at 9:30 and it worked. My GT is Death Toll for confirmation that I have the game. I got my code from Gamestop.

Been trying since 7am pacific. I have an Amazon code.

8:30am Pacific time and mine finally works. Woot!

i dont know why you guys are having trouble i put my code in about a half hour ago and it works perfectly. hope you guys' luck gets better

still haven't got my code from amazon yet. Did anyone else pre-order a week ago and get a code from amazon?

As of yesterday it said the codes would be emailed Friday. I just pre-ordered yesterday though, so maybe you'll get yours earlier.

I deleted the marketplace data before trying the code (just to be safe), than entered the code and it worked fine.

I ordered from Amazon yesterday and haven't gotten a code yet. They said on 8/15 is when the emails will be sent out.

Any truth to Amazon not charging you since its a pre-order and still giving you a code?

Heck I am only getting standard and pre-ordered at gamestop and had to pay $10 even though for standard its normally $5

You have to pay $10 to cover the cost of Fable II Pub Games. They don't want you receiving the game for free or half-price then cancelling your preorder.

You're still not paying anything - that $10 comes out of the Fable 2 order.

i work at gamestop and the only reason is because you are getting the pub games. your right that normally for regular edition its only five but with the pub games being announced recently those who pre ordered it earlier for only five still get the games. your ten dollars will still come off of the price so i wouldnt complain seing how you got a free arcade game

FYI: I picked up the card from EB Games last night and (per the instructions printed on the card) downloaded the free version at 8:00 am PST.

My code worked fine , the only issue I had is I lost a lot of gold already............

Got mine to finally work. Free is free can't complain too much.

The code works now. Major Nelson reported that the problem was fixed about 30 minutes ago.

mine is working @ 2:15 est, downloading full version with the code i got at my local gamestop..

Gotta love the Fable II theme music (it plays during the entire Pub Games.)

I was not complaining, I was just surprised by it, Had $5 in cash wasn't expecting to run my credit card thats all. I have no problem spending the $10 cause in the end it is free.

Okay i have the code for the pub games, now ware do i enter it? Because when i go to download them i cant find any place to put the code and it says that the games cost 800 ms points< arent the games supposed to be free?

don't dload the game. 1st go to xbox live marketplace and click on redeem coupon/code. enter 25 digit code and you will be taken to dload screen

I tried early in the morning and mine didn't work. When I got off of work it worked. Thought I was the only one. I got mine from Amazon.

I preordered the limited editon from best buy and haven't gotten anything sent to my email yet... ??? anyone else order from bestbuy get their code?

my pub games works fine... it just crashes when i play it for more than 10 minutes!!
