Capcom's Christian Svensson informs on the company's site that Bionic Commando Rearmed won't be available tomorrow on Steam. Apparently, Capcom and Valve could not come to agreeable terms at "the last minute," meaning the game will have to be purchased through other outlets.
BCR will be available tomorrow on Direct2Drive at 8AM Pacific and on other sites later in the day. Considering Steam has become many people's trusted go-to PC digital distribution source, it appears the group getting hurt most by Capcom and Valve's standoff is the consumer. It's worth pointing out that the game is available now and $5 cheaper on consoles ... just saying.

Pfft... their loss. Valve (Steam) is pretty much kicking butt right now, and is weird that Capcom won't realize that.
And pay 5 bucks more on PC? Why?

Maybe cuz valve wants a big piece of the pie?
Anyway, playing this on a PC? I shudder at the thought of it. I guess it could work, but it's old, old, incredibly old school in terms of controls.

It's using a D-Pad anyway, so I don't see any problem with using a keyboard.

And it's extra on all downloadable sources on PC, Valve has nothing to do with the price rise.

For the sake of the achievements I'm playing it on hard and boy they are not kidding in took me a while to get to Zone 4.
You should buy it,it is pretty awesome but some parts are really hard regardless of the dificulty.

On Hard? From what I could tell based on reading the achievements, it seems like the only "difficulty influenced" achievement requires you to be playing on "Super Hard." Do you have to finish Hard mode in order to get it?

Direct 2 Drive is a good service, and it seems that it too often gets a bad rap. I never understood that.
I love Steam as much as the next guy, but really, considering that any game that makes no use of Steam's features is really just another game (that you happen to purchase through Steam), what's the difference? You can enable the Steam overlay through almost any game regardless of how you purchase it.
I understand wanting to support Steam, but just because it's not a game that they offer doesn't mean you can use another service that is of good quality.

it is nice having your online library in one place, not to mention, the way STEAM handles downloads is second to none, unlimited downloads on all your PC's is a great thing, and not having to worry about another online service is great. D2D isn't a bad service, just doesn't hold up to STEAM.

I've bought many games through D2D (as much as I have through Steam) and had no problems installing them on other systems, or in reinstalling. You can also burn the games to disc pretty effortlessly.

Rearmed is already available on Direct2Drive and the extra 5 bucks for the PC version is offset by the fact that the PC version is going to get extra bonus content. Might want to change the article just a bit to point out that you can buy it now on D2D.

yepper...so STEAM , No Sale. That's my deal.
I'm sure it's great on 360 and PS3, but I really want it for my laptop. Heading to the shore this weekend, and it would have been great to have but oh well. I don't use D2D, so there's that.
Count me in as one lost sale for now...

I'd say the majority of people hurt by this are the customers, but Capcom also takes a bit of hurt as well. Not only the fact that people can't buy it on steam (for now), but it'll be up on warez before then. Free or $15, 5 more than consoles? I don't know which one I'll pick.

Yeah it's kinda insane that the cheapest to develop for platform gets the highest price tag.

I don't like this game. The controls feel like shit. Should have made the controls identical to Pixel Junk Eden but with a gun.
