Hey gang, terrible, terrible news: You can now check your status on the Geometry Wars 2 leaderboards at any moment of the day, thanks to a Bizarre Creations application that's just gone live. While you can't check your status as it compares to your friends, you can see, in real-time, how you stack up against the rest of the world.
It's not just the time you'll spend plugging gamertags into the site to see how everyone ranks that's so troubling. It's watching your status slipping while you toil at the office, debating if it's worth faking food poisoning to get back in the Pacifism top 10,000 that's really going to mess with you. (Spoiler alert: It's totally worth it.)

I know but right now, I'm unemployed and I need the money to pay for books for school. I only had a little extra left over to buy an xbla game.

Same here, but I'm not too broken up about it, it's loads of fun. Plus, I'm really looking forward to a lot of games coming out soon, especially the stronger titles for the XBLA and Gears 2.
Good luck getting a job, I'm in the same boat.

Geo Wars is smokin.. so mush so, that if you don't have it by now, please turn in your 360 ASAP to avoid any further unavailing of your sorry ‘don’t know a good thing’ ass.

It's still weird that 8 million in KING will get you in the top 200.

The achievements in this game are actually good. I enjoyed dodging 8 lines of enemies without firing in Waves for a cool 15 points.

The scoring is completely different in Geometry Wars 2.
Instead of your multiplier increasing with the number of kills you get, and going back to 1 every time you die, when you kill an enemy it leaves little yellow "Geoms" and each one you collect increases your multiplier. These were introduced in Geometry Wars Galaxies for wii/ds. Unlike galaxies and evolved, when you die your multiplier doesn't go back to 1.
So it's a LOT easier to get higher scores, don't feel bad.

i was in the top 10k for deadline when i first got the game, now im at a more reasonable 3000-something. How the heck i managed to get 4 million in my first game is anyones guess- i've only managed to inch away 1 mil when i usually play that mode D:
