You may recall that, a little over than a week ago, some purported concept art for a Halo movie based on Eric Nylund's Halo: Fall of Reach novel surfaced on the web. If you don't, here's a convenient link back through time. Pretty nifty, huh?
So it's going on 10 days later and a new, less "Spartans in Spaaaaace!" piece of art has sprung up, appearing to depict our finest future-soldiers in training. Make with the clicking on the image above or Source link below for a larger version ... and keep hope alive that the fight for a Halo film is eventually finished.
[Thanks, tbone!]

It already looks better than what I've seen of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie.

Surely you're not talking about that picture of shirtless Jake Gyllenhal.

The title of this post in in-accurate. The movie has NOT been revived. This concept work is from an artist who painted it for Stuart Beattie's new Halo script, which was done as freelance piece, not for a request by MS. MS ans Bungie's official position is that the Halo movie is on hold.

What, are they making a stand at some wormhole or something? Finding a choke point in outer space is pretty much futile.

This doesn't seem right, I thought all the kids got their hair cut in the novels. Yet, there they all seem to have long hair. Or the Girls do, at least.

This is not a rumoured concept art from a revived Halo movie.
This is a concept art, for the Stuart Beattie script. Its a part of a presentation Stuart Beattie and others from hollywood plan to show to Microsoft. To pitch to them the Halo movie.
If you notice in the center of the screen theres a URL. The address is Latinoreview.com. The site Latino Review was also first to report Stuart Beattie was volunteering to write a Halo script. To be paid if the script was ever used, because he wanted to see the project rejuvinated. This site is the source of the image above.
Quoting from the site:
On its news post about this image:
"FYI Mr. Weston, this is nothing more than fan art made by an artist in Hollywood. When every home made HALO fan art and youtube video on the net is taken down and you guys learn how to properly play ball in Hollywood and make the HALO movie then maybe, I will honor your request."
This was the site publicly addressing an email a MS lawyer supposebly sent the site after the first image.
Heres a quote from the site about the first image, that came out a couple weeks ago:
"as part of an eventual presentation to Microsoft. From what I’m told, the presentation is very cool!"
" From what I know, this particular scene takes place halfway through the proposed script and yes that’s Master Chief in the middle."
These are not rumoured concept art from a revived Halo movie. These ARE fan art, from a group of people in hollywood planning to pitch there vision of a Halo movie to Microsoft. Because they really want to see the project happen.
The fundamental problem is, none of that matters. The Halo movie has a script. It has a direction. It just has no studio behind it, because Microsoft wanted too big of a budget and too much of the profit. Because Microsoft has stoped trying to find a studio for the Halo movie, these guys just figured a pitch would get Microsoft reinterested in the project. But the real problem is Microsoft isn't really willing to compromise with studios.

I still am fearful for this movie ¬_¬ FOr some reason I can't see anything other then a replica of Starwars except with guns instead of lightsabers.
Even Gears I can see a summer blockbuster, but for Halo I'm worried.

I just love how Chief Mendez and his two subordinates are wearing the exact same uniform (MCCUU) as the United States Marine Corps of 2008.
Innovation at it's best. :D
Anyways, it's a fantastic piece of art, and I can't wait to see more of this "movie's" concept art.

ALso, with worse acting, an a worse than generic storylone, yes i went there...Go ahead try and defend Halo's "story", Halo will be worse than Dead or Alive or Alone in the Dark. it will just make you look like a MS fantard, because even the Halo fans say the story is a joke, but the gameplay is fun :) i like the gameplay.

I like Halo's gameplay alright. It's nothing outstanding, but it's fun enough to keep me playing.
Halo's story on the other hand, I love. It's the one reason I kept coming back to the series, aside from the wicked original scores.

Well, Halo sucks, the movie's going to suck even more due to it having been dumbed down for the general non-virgin public.and God of war also sucks.
