You know PS3 owners would like to keep playing the series too. Just because it could be developed on a PS2 dosen't mean they need to keep it there, People are STARVING for japanese games on the PS3, with M$ runing around buying every thing in site this is an AWESOME thing to have. And to be honest; Joystiq's time with the game seems somewhat lacking if they only played it for 9 hours for them to say the game is underwhelming. From the trailer alone the new combat abilities sound like they'd fill up the PS2's already strained memory. Graphically the sprites may not look like much but have you ever seen what a truely low resolution sprite looks like on a HDTV? these sprites as low res as they look are probably 3 times the size of the original ones.

To be fair, that was 9 hours in one day. Our total time with the game for our impressions was much more.

I just preordered it from amazon tonight. I do wish the sprites were updated...

I've played plenty of games this generation while thinking "You know, I probably would have enjoyed this every bit as much if it was a PS2 game."

I love this series and do not care about updated graphics and if you are looking for graphics go get a game that advertises that instead of unique SRPG gameplay.

Apparently there's 3 dimensional battle SRPG and
"Class World" adds 40 battle stages per character.
40x270=10800 stages...damn that's alot.

This is one of the games on my (currently very short) list of reasons to get a PS3. Oddly enough, I've never owned a PS2, but spent a bunch of time playing the PSP version. At this point, I'll probably end up picking up a copy now (before it becomes impossible to find) so I have it whenever I end up getting a PS3 at some unspecified point in the future. Either that or wait on the slim chance of an 360 port...
