New Call of Duty 4 playlists in the works
In his latest report from Infinity Ward HQ, community confidant Fourzerotwo brings word that the Call of Duty 4 battlefront could see some changes soon. No less than eight new multiplayer playlists are in development, of which four are currently being tested, and at least one can pass through the servers without a patch: Hardcore Headquarters. But we're taking a keen interest in another playlist, Hardcore Ricochet, which turns teamkillers' attacks against them. It's like we're rubber, they're glue -- whatever they shoot, bounces off us and ... burrows deep into their treacherous guts!
Peep the full descriptions and statuses of all the planned playlists on Fourzerotwo's blog.

Tiptup300 @ Aug 19th 2008 10:48PM
at least you didn't say "first!"

im gonna love that Hardcore Ricochet i hate team killing so people think its super funny .but people might just start running in front of bullets on purpose now
Trance Addix @ Aug 19th 2008 10:28PM
Yeah, that playlist looks very promising! :)
OMGOMG @ Aug 19th 2008 10:41PM
That's why I don't play hardcore. Sure, it may be more of a sign of skill (I honestly don't think so, but some swear by it), but not having to deal with TK'ing and all that other stuff makes the normal playlists much more appealing.

lmao, you guys are only just getting this? You've been able to do this on the PC since launch.
Man you console guys love to take it up the butt and say thank you.
Obie @ Aug 19th 2008 10:18PM
Jesus, if Halo had hardcore richochet I would be in heaven.
OMGOMG @ Aug 19th 2008 10:42PM
Imagine an automatic boot to anyone who gets more than 4 or 5 suicides in a game.
So many jerks ruined Halo 2 for me because of that.
That bad taste translated over to H3, so I never really got into it.
Obie @ Aug 19th 2008 11:01PM
Same here, it shows how a potentially good game can be ruined by a lousy offshoot of community.
theturtle363 @ Aug 19th 2008 10:34PM
Oh, i thought this would address why it takes a ridiculous amount of bullets to kill people in what's supposed to be a realistic game. Now don't get me wrong I love CoD 4, and it isn't like they're the only one with the problem, Battlefield Bad Company is especially annoying in that respect.
Popfrogs @ Aug 20th 2008 2:34PM
Yeah, Battlefield: Bad Coding needs quite a few patches to fix alot of basic flaws. But it's Dice/EA, I'm not holding my breath.
hexoDAT64 @ Aug 19th 2008 10:36PM
How exactly will Hardcore Ricochet work? Isn't part of the point of being on Hardcore is that friendly fire's on. So like what if I throw a grenade and it accidentally kills a teammate. (Which happens for many people). Does this just kill you or is there like a warning system
R3AL1Z3 @ Aug 20th 2008 12:56AM
Your type of people I hate playing with because you lob your random grenades around.
Canoftin @ Aug 19th 2008 10:40PM
Glad to hear somebody thought of that too. I am 100% sure this will make things worse. It happens by accident all the time now, guy runs in front of your fire and you kill him. Now you die... great... TK'ers will just stand in front of snipers... yeah this is not a good fix. Now they can just run around, play and be a prick while they are at it.
MedHead @ Aug 19th 2008 11:48PM
Why is the PC getting second-class-citizen status AGAIN?
dbradford @ Aug 19th 2008 11:56PM
PC already has HQ mode available in Hardcore, and the option for Reflective TKs.
AzaMcWazza @ Aug 20th 2008 12:12AM
It'd just be nice if they spent their time fixing the borked PS3 lobby and game joining system. Why can't I connect to a friend's game? Why can't I see the ping of the server in the lobby? Why can't I get join request DURING a level?
Anthrax704 @ Aug 20th 2008 12:16AM
LOL the PC version of COD4 has had the hardcore Ricochet stuff on servers for so long. Just shows PC is superior to console with mods and Add Ons
Clinton oxendine @ Aug 20th 2008 12:22AM
well i guess well have to see how it goes but what they need to fix is host system among other things
Po.Panda @ Aug 20th 2008 12:43AM
Bout damn time.
Po Panda @ Aug 20th 2008 12:51AM
A bit off topic but is anyone having problems with 'lag' or system hangs on Madden NFL 09? For either system?
DougSamn @ Aug 20th 2008 2:27AM
a bit off topic?, why didn't you just go with 'has anyone seen my car keys'.
Cheapo @ Aug 20th 2008 2:27AM
They just don't get it. This ricochet crap will fix nothing.
Just KICK OBVIOUS TEAMKILLERS FROM HARDCORE. Is it hard? I like the vulnerability that you may kill someone accidently.
There's a world of difference between an accident with a random nade, and RPG-ing the whole team. Just kick them, leave the rest. Ugh!
Tim The Enchanter @ Aug 20th 2008 11:59AM
Oh wow, this should help! I mean at least it's a step in the right direction. I hate tk'ers.
But instead of that, if it could be made so that you can kick TKers yourself after the first offense, we could keep the realism of friendly fire.
