LucasArts has sent us a rather hefty excerpt from The Art and Making of The Force Unleashed book (itself a whopping 224 pages) that came out this week. We're guessing it doesn't end with a note on the dev team being cut.
Click above to peruse the gallery (Protip: Click on the Hi-res button on each gallery page to view a high-resolution version of the image). A demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed drops this Thursday, with the full game arriving mid-September.

I hope this game is good. The trailers look phenomenal, but the recent gameplay vids made me question how good its going to be.
Also his name is "Starkiller", sounds like they let an 8 year old name him. Vader, Maul, Tyrannous, Sidious, StarKiller? Which seems out of place here.

To further explain, Luke Skywalker's original name was Luke Starkiller but was changed during production. Of course I really don't know this as fact as I'm not a big star wars fan... I'm more of a Soul Calibur fan and some other nerds were discussing this fact on a message board :)

Luke Skywalker was originally named Luke Starkiller well into the shooting of Star Wars with Lucas making the call to change the name to something less menacing a couple of months into filming. The first time we hear Luke's last name is when he's rescuing Princess Leia (Sis!!!) and he introduces himself; prior he was just referred to as "Luke".

Wow, that's even more lame. Lucas created something amazing, but he has some cheesy sensibilities. Thats why empire is the best star wars.. he didn't direct it.
No ewoks, no Jar jar.
BTW if the first level was Darth Vader slaughtering ewoks instead of wookies this would be a must buy.

In defense of the name Starkiller, the ones you compared it to are the Sith names of Sith Lords. Starkiller is not a Sith.

I'm not sure I want to even support this game with a purchase. They cut the dev team and multiplayer to save time and money. I don't understand why they did everything half way when the game had the potential to be one of the best game experiences on the 360. I wanted some high-tech Jedi Knight II style multiplayer, something to really show off the new tech this game has. Playing against mindless drones is only satisfying for a few hours.

I've seen a lot of great tech demos for this game - another game i cannot wait to see come out...which at this point, is only a couple weeks away.
not a huge fan of star wars, but i do appreciate art/design books to coincide whenever worthwhile things such a game like this comes out. i'll see. Gotta see if Indigo Books carries it yet!

What sucks is that IV-V give you the notion that Vader is a serious baddass and an evil character. In VI you start to see that Vader really is more of a victim of circumstance and just does what he does because he feels like he doesn't have any other choice. Then Lucas comes along with I-III and turns Vader into a complete pussy.
In all of the main story, Vader never really becomes a true Sith Lord. He doesn't even really show all that much allegiance to the Sith, just the Dark Side powers. Force Unleashed and the final Clone Wars comic books seem to show that Vader really feels like he has no side and wants to strike out on his own to make his vision of the galaxy. However Vader continues to fail in almost all that he does for his own ambition and all he is good for is killing people for the emporer.

Foreword by Hayden Christansen, eh? Who, exactly, do they think that's going to entice?
