Readers pick best webcomic: Gears of Conflict Resolution
Despite (or perhaps because of) the similarities to an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force from 2004, Penny Arcade's Gears of Conflict Resolution took top honors in this week's webcomic wrapup. We'd also like to take a moment to remind everyone of the 300 "PG" parody, since we still can't stop ourselves from shouting "This is Cake Town" at least once a day at random strangers.
Second and third place go to Ctrl+Alt+Del's Moar Co-Op and Monday Night Crew's Street Dated. A special nod goes to mudron's debut in the wrapup. Thanks to everyone who voted; be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Fanboys was the only one that was actually funny to me. Everyone can relate to Charlie and the useless son-of-a-bitch Duck Hunt dog.
capt_carl @ Aug 19th 2008 9:51AM
That was the one I voted for.

Woo! Didn't come in last! Once again, thanks Joystiq for increasing Burn The Internet's viewership a hundred-fold for a couple of days.

The only real travesty is Buckley's homoerotic fantasies receiving a single vote at all. I guess those sheep from the Monday Night Crew comic are everywhere.

Wow, if that was the winner, I'm glad I didn't read the rest of them.
Haggard @ Aug 19th 2008 10:46AM
I think the one about Madden was the best. People vote for Penny Arcade cause it's the only one they can be arsed to view. Doesn't make it look any better that the picture is only of the first two panels, either.
Duke @ Aug 19th 2008 11:07AM
Well, the 300 video was nice at least.
Alzheimers @ Aug 19th 2008 11:15AM
Penny Arcade is always the ringer in these votes -- they win because they have the most fans, not just cause they're the best.
I got a laugh out of this week's "The Noob" that mentions the Funcom GM who recently got fired for cybring.

Perhaps you've already forgotten all the times Penny Arcade has NOT won the weekly web comic wrap-up, Mr.... wait, what was your name again?
Alzheimers @ Aug 19th 2008 2:31PM
I said they were the ringer, not that they won every time. It's the default choice when there's nothing that stands out, and some people will vote for it just because it's PA.
Casey @ Aug 19th 2008 11:53AM
Oh, tha Aqua Teen episode was glorious. The nun sprouting rainbows from her blown off head was the kicker.
Kael @ Aug 19th 2008 12:16PM
It's really weird that no one has mentioned the fact that Gears of War 1 had the very same optional content filter they say Gears of War 2 will have. I don't recall seeing any webcomics about it back then.
theturtle363 @ Aug 19th 2008 2:03PM
that was always my favorite episode of ATHF. "#$%& $#@! @#*@!" "ACCEPTABLE!"
ogvor @ Aug 19th 2008 3:33PM
Yes, the 300 PG version trailer is hilarious!
MNC Dover @ Aug 19th 2008 10:54PM
You know what I find interesting is that our website got around 6,500 visits from this poll, but only around 1,400 people actually voted.
Weird, no?

This comic should make it to next week's Wrapup.
