Fallout 3 falls into retail October 28

"Prepare for the future" indeed! And by "future" we specifically mean October 28th (or October 31st for our European pals) because that's when Bethesda's "Best of E3"-award winning Fallout 3 – including the Collector's and Survival editions – falls into retailer's laps.

Vlatko Andonov, Bethesda Softworks prez, teases, "To meet the huge demand for this title by our fans worldwide, we are planning one of the biggest launches of any game released this year." We're not sure what Bethesda's got in store, but when discussing a game set in a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland, we're excited to see how big of a splash it can make. Bunkers, everyone!

A few glaring details, but past that, Oblivion was a very good game.

Feel free to not like it, just don't be a dick if I ask you for your reasoning, especially if it's suck a critically acclaimed game.

The best place to learn about Oblivion's legion of flaws are in Fallout 3 previews, where game journalists gleefully enumerate a whole host of problems like generic setting, bad dialogs, silly persuasion minigame, boring quests, repetitiveness, level scaling, and dull plot, all flaws that Fallout 3 will magically fix because it's in a different setting!

Wait it sucked? Oblivion? Are you talking about elder Scrolls Oblivion? Because it doesn't suck.

Well, I wouldn't have said it sucked, but it had a lot of problems, and was no where near the level of Morrowind.

Loot and enemy scaling alone pretty much killed the game.

Wow, we must have played a completely different game, because the Oblivion I played had repetitive quests involving dark caves and utterly useless rewards, which in the end killed every reason to actually complete any of the quests, because I had a house full of awsome loot already, because i had stolen everything there was to steal in all the mayor cities, thanks to the piss-easy mechanics.

In the end, only the Assassin Club's quests were interesting enough to make me acutally complete them. On all other occasions, I spent my time killing hordes of guardsmen because it was fun to watch them ragdoll through the air when I fired an AOE DOT fire arrow into their midst. And that became a little old after the first 231 times.

Don't tell Justin. He swings a banhammer for any tiny reason. And he angers easily.

So within 2 weeks of each other we have Fable 2, Fallout 3, and Little Big Planet so far that I know of. I better start saving now :(

and Guitar Hero and Star Ocean PSP remake :)

More time to save up $130 for the Survival Edition i guess. :)

Dude, the Survival edition is crap. It's 50 buck more than the Collectors, all for a clock of unknown quality. You should pre-order at ebGames/Gamestop, then for 80 bucks (70 on PC) you get: the Game, a PIP-boy Bobblehead, a Lunchbox, a Art Book, a Making of DVD, a soundtrack excerpt, and a poster. Not to mention that Survival is only on Amazon, so you have to wait for it to ship unless you paid higher on shipping.

I agree with all of u guys...too many games coming out!!!! idk how I'm gonna pull all this $$$$$ out of my ass...maybe I should sell my Wii....not like I use it

This is number 1 on my list of wants this year. Which is saying something because my list is huge!

THAT IS TOO LONG!!! I want it now gadamnit....

I really hope they release a timed demo, 15 mins would be good. even 1 minute. Yeah I can't wait, but I want the game to be finished :D

I can't wait for this game. I have been looking forward to Fallout 3 for a very long time...since Fallout 2 actually.
