GC 2008: Pour over this in-game Heavy Rain footage

Meh, doesn't live up to the hype as far as I can tell. The lip synching makes her look like one of those old fashioned wooden puppets, mouth just falls open and snaps shut.

And the game play... blegh, looks like a Dragon Lair clone to me, complete with canned animations.

Exclusively for the PlayStation 3?! Oh fuck me. :(

Wait, is the gameplay based on QTE?

I love Survival/Horror games but I expect some investigation or something but being chased by a maniac is always a + in my books.

About the graphics well it looks like GTA4 to me mixed with Condemned.

A few telltale flaws that make their claim of gameplay footage believable, but still an amazing effort. It's really nailed the atmospherics down, especially inside that house

If the QTE system is dynamic enough, it shouldn't stagnate the actual gameplay too. Hopefully it is as dynamic as promised.

1. We have another Dragon's Lair game!

2. Don't start your trailers with "actual gameplay footage." It makes you sound pretentious (especially if after seeing said footage one can easily tell that it is gameplay footage).

3. I does look really good (though still looks like gameplay footage). That last shot of the close up on the main character did evoke some kind of emotional response in me. Which kind? Even I don't know.

This looks really pretty and appears to half very good atmosphere, but I am still a little unclear on the game itself. Should be interesting though, and all of the good press about it is encouraging.

Doesn't seem to be that much more impressive than many of the current gen game big wigs. Actually the first thing I noticed is how mechanical the mouth movement was, other than that it looks pretty good.

Alot of posts in here unfortunately show a blatant lack of appreciation for where our technology has brought us just remember where we were 10 years ago and games like Heavy Rain will teach you that the PS3 truly displays a step in the right direction technologically at least come on just knowing that this game is just about dancing in the Uncanny Valley is astonishing could we have said that back in Aug 1998 I don't think so - and for anybody who doesn't get it yet this beauty has been published by Sony confirming it as a PERMANENT PS3 exclusive - sorry but the 360 (while a good system) won't be seeing this title.
