Somehow, we always imagined the impending zombie apocalypse would involve more ... zombies. This latest footage of Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop for Wii sees protagonist Frank West running sauntering through swarms groups of hundredsdozens 10 crazed bored zombies on what appears to be Super Bowl Sunday (or during the American Idol finale). It's nice to see the improved aiming mechanic in action, even if it is lifted directly from Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. There's a longer gameplay trailer after the break, although we don't recommend viewing it while driving or operating heavy machinery.
Why Capcom? Why would you make your self look so idiotic putting this game on Wii? There are like 10 zombies non screen. This is pathetic. Atleast give the game to the PS3, or work on DR2!
If it turns out good then great. I can finally own this game (I don't have a 360 out of this Generations systems) and finally wipe the dust off my wii.
I think it's going to be one of those games you have to play first to see if you're going to like it/be any good. Hopefully it is (Hopefully not a complete RE4 clone)!
I'll admit that it looks okay considering it's a 360 to Wii port, but really the only reason anyone would want to buy it is if they don't already have another version.
This is just one of those instances where if you've only got a Wii, you might as well. But who does? I really don't get who this port is for. If you're a "hardcore" gamer then it's likely you've already got a 360 or picked one up for $300. If you're only interested in casual games, this doesn't appeal to you, and if you're a kid who doesn't have the money for more than one console then you probably shouldn't be buying this game.
You forget another category: married man who would LIKE to own the other consoles, but just don't have the FUNDS to purchase one or another of the others yet, but DOES have a Wii that he plays by himself and with his kids. Both they and I love the system, and I'll probably be picking this up when I get the chance. Of course, I'm seperated now, and should be having some open funds in a while, so will be picking up a PS3 as soon as I get a chance...would do 360, but gotta go with the Blue-Ray. :-)
Hi, you seem to forget that there's this little thing called a PC. The PC can do everything the 360 can, except exclusives, but those are just so rare, that us PC gamers have no use for a 360.
The Wii, on the other hand, CAN do things the PC cannot, so it's still worth owning. Thanks for playing, though.
You're also forgetting the die-hard Dead Rising fans. My brother dedicated many, many hours to the original to gain all the achievements (yes, even that 7-day one). He filled out a questionaire about a potential sequel and said he'd buy whatever system the sequel comes for, be it a PS3 or a XBox 720 or whatever.
So yeah, needless to say, he'll probably buy this game, even though it looks like ass, and I'm sure he'll think it looks like ass, but will buy it anyway to support the series.
Hey the graphics look like crap...how can we try to hide that in the ads? Oh wait, I know. We'll use lots of overly stylized effects to make it look less like a PS2 game.
One thing I don't get is why some people think this might even be remotely targeted at gamers buying it AGAIN if they already played it on Xbox. I'd guess there are a lot more people with a Wii as their only console that want to play that game compared to people who buy a game twice just because it has a bit of new content or is on another console.
It won't be Dead Rising xbox, but with changes like the removal of the time limit and aiming with the remote it could turn out to be a worthy port aiming at a different audience.
Not too bad actually. I mean I've seen clips of the 360 game and many times there weren't really that much more zombies at any given time. The plaza areas probably had three times more in normal cases within close proximity but other areas look to have about the same on the 360. The shadows could've been better and audio and sound effects sound a bit repetitive (not sure if that's the same for the 360 version though) so I hope they can add to that. Pretty respectable.
Either you didn't play the original or didn't play it too carefully.
Especially later in the game's 3-day cycle, the hordes of zombies were such that you either had to climb and jump your way around, or murder mobs of zombies so packed they're all about one foot away from each other. Yes even in the plaza areas it could get that crowded.
My estimate is that early in the game there won't be too much a significant difference, but later on when the zombies keep packing up more and more, and you get those cultist members along with the special forces, the Wii will ultimately have 1/6 of what the 360 was doing. That's just my guess.
And don't even say I hate on the Wii. I Wii fit bitches.
