The PlayStation Blog announced today that the God of War himself will be available tomorrow as a downloadable character for PS3's Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. Kratos, sporting the "clubs of chaos," is taking some time off from battling the gods of Olympus to try and sink a couple putts.
The Kratos DLC will cost $2, but this isn't just a fancy new character model for the game. We give Sony props for bringing in T.C. Carson, the voice of Kratos, to record some new lines for the Ghost of Sparta to use in the game. Don't expect any of Kratos's trademark rage, though, as the game will continue to be rated "E."

have you ever played golf? It'll most likely bring the destruction of the world when he misses that 4 ft. birdie.

First Master Chief in Fable 2, and now Kratos playing golf.
I love it when companies do these kind of things :)

Cameos are the best thing since sliced bread.
Here's to hoping Clap Hanz brings back R&C and Jak&D just like in HSG:Fore!

I haven't played a Hot Shots Golf since the original, but man was that game addicting. I didn't even know there was a PS3 iteration of Hot Shots; makes me wish I had a PS3, actually.
Yes, I consider Hot Shots a bigger "killer app" than Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance and Metal Gear.

Dude, get it. The online tournaments are so much fun, the community is a little on the small side but very helpful and respectful to new people and there's another HUGE update attached to the Kratos character that is only going to make the online game that much better for people who play it.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say it's not that great. I vastly prefer the PSP versions because there's soooooo much stuff to unlock AND more courses. The PS3 version was one of the biggest let downs this year for (fore?) me - like you, I'm a huge HSG fan. If they added unlockable costume parts like the PSP version, it'd be golden. There is unlockable stuff for your online avatar, but c'mon.

I'm gonna say get it.
But I do find it odd how little stuff there is to unlock. If you like to play dress up, you'll find this a big disappointment from the PSP version. I don't recall the PSP version having more choices, this one has 6 you unlock and one that costs $4.99.
Also, the online tourneys are good, but it's too bad it only has text chat and no voice. I use my Bluetooth keyboard, which helps a bit, but I still don't get why this game (and so many Japanese games) doesn't have voice chat.

This has absolutely made my day.
He's even more out of place than Vader, but five million percent more hilarious.
I only hope he screams "DAAAAAMN YOU ZEUS!" to the heavens when he misses an easy putt.
