But for those of you that weren't convinced pre-trailer, we're just going to assume you've firmly aligned yourself with the believers. Did you see that dude throwing other dudes into a fan? Did you see those cyclones picking up cars? Did you see that dude rubbing that other dude on a moving train? Are they serious with this? Can we buy two, one to play and one to crush up and mainline?

Sega's current 3-game deal with Platinum (formerly known as Clover) and the new HotD game for Wii is making me love them so much right now.
Yes, it even makes up for Werehog The Game.

I've yet to reserve judgement on Black Knight until I know more. All I know so far is that it's a sequel to Secret Rings, which was an alright game.
(I still think Unleashed COULD be a good game, despite how stupid the werehog concept is, it could still be fun to play)

The werehog gameplay reminds of me Kung Panda for the xbox 360, that was a pretty great game.

I can't really bag on the werehog stuff since it looks like a beat 'em up, and I have a weakness for that genre.
...although past Sonic games do keep my expectations throughly tempered.
And Secret Rings was really good, so I'm fairly excited for Black Knight. Best Sonic game since CD, even with it's flaws.

Honestly I think that is the point why is it just a small amount of game in the WII library like this. This should be shaming a lot of developers by now. I think good games have come out for the WII but mostly from Nintendo, and none with this level of thought and creativity in it, I think the closest from a 3rd party was No More heroes.
All 3rd parties have really spouted is "We can't there isn't any hardware to do a good game" then those same devs complain about high cost. This game is about to make a whole industry lower their heads in shame. It is also going to show if there really is this hardcore crowd waiting to support the Wii or was that fanboy banter for attacks.

No I require a little more than a fancy coat of paint (which btw I hate. Don't like anything black and white) slapped onto mediocre gameplay. There wasn't anything special gameplay wise about what was shown in that video, everyone's just all hyped up because it's black and white which hasn't really been done before.
I appreciate the attempt at something that's not geared towards 5 year olds for once on a nintendo system, but the game looks shallow as hell.

Sorry, Tmac, but this is where I draw the line. Mediocre gameplay? If this is HALF as deep as God Hand, which to my delight it's being compared to, the gameplay will be FAR deeper and more complex than ANYTHING you'll play in 2009. The only place you'll find more complex gameplay will be in 2D fighters.
I'd LOVE to know what you would consider deep gameplay. Surely you're not going to suggest a simple run 'n' jump platformer like LittleBIGPlanet, are you?
(you wanna know what's REALLY scary? Compare LBP gameplay vids to the awful Eternity's Child)
And I KNOW you aren't going to DARE try and tell me that, oh say, MGS or GTA has deep, complex gameplay...when those games, especially GTA, are known for their frustrating gameplay.
My obvious biases aside, did you play ANY of Clover's games? Ignoring the awful Viewtiful Joe Battle Carnival game, NONE of the Clover/Platinum games had shallow gameplay. Their games, like Nintendo's games, HINGED on the entertaining, thoughtful gameplay more than anything else.

Here's the thing, all eyes are on Nintendo right now; even the casual market. If Nintendo does hype this game, the people in the casual market will be astounded by the amount of violence in the game and swear off their Wii because of it. The casual market is stupid like that.

Haha - I broke two controllers by playing that game...and my third one is just about done for, too! The square button sticks on all of them. I also got so frustrated during the Mr. Silver and Gold fight on Hard Mode that I tore the wire from the first controller.

I'm more of a harcore gamer, so i don't like so much kiddy sh*t from the Wii. Even Zelda was just a decent game becuase of that (really, i have to put horses in a pen? who thought that was fun?). The ones i listed are all more hardcore gamer-type games. Dead Rising is the poor man's 360 version, and Deadly Creatures i've never heard of before, but it looks kinda stupid. I'll be on the lookout for more of the games i listed, but this is really the kind of game i was looking for. It's a little like No More Heroes, except that NMH is the same thing over and over again :(

Yeah, that's right, because "Hardcore Gamer" is defined as "Plays games with blood, murder, aliens and multiplayer". Can't forget "Realistic. Stop talking out of your ass, you are the cancer that is killing the gaming industry.
Why can't you just say that Dead Rising is for people who don't have a 360 or want more features/functionality and are willing to lose some visual quality in the process? There may be a lot of games on the Wii that are aimed at children, but I'm pretty sure that I could point out 50 games at least that justify a purchase of a Wii and would be considered "hardcore" in the real term; fun to play.

Um Punisher, Capcom recently said they were aiming for, and very close to, 100 Zombies on screen. 360 Dead Rising was Dead Boring. Hopefull some well implemented motion controls can make it fun. I'm a picky hardcore gamer myself, have been playing games for nearly 23 years, and i've found 11 Wii games to own as well as 12 VC games, 2 WiiWare games and 12 GC games.
Games dont have to be violent to be enjoyable. Casual games are pick-up-and-play minigame BS or kiddy movie tie-ins. EVERYTHING ELSE is a hardcore game only real gamers who know what thier looking for would want. Games like the severly underappreciated Tony Hawk Downhill Jam (controls are perfect), Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution, Super Paper Mario, Pikmin, Ikaruga, Every 3D Zelda game, Tales of Symphonia etc. I could go through my whole list of games but of every game i own playable on the Wii, none of them are kiddy movie tie-ins or mini-game compilations. Games don't need blood to be hardcore.

Well done Samfish. It's a shame most 'hardcore' gamers are so blinded by thier HD (OMG TEH PIXELS) that they can't seem to sift through all the crap on the Wii to find the many gems. Oh and to add on to my comment, i dont even own Brawl, Mario Kart, Galaxy, Battalion Wars, Geometry Wars, The Godfather, Sonic and the Secret Rings or No More Heroes and i've STILL managed to find a great selection of games to play. I dont even have enough time in the day to play them all. I bought a DS and my daughter plays it cause i dont have the time to finish DS games AND Wii games.
