GC 2008: Sony officially announces PSP-3000

Sony has taken the opportunity of the Leipzig Games Convention to reveal the brand-spanking new PSP-3000, arriving Oct 15 in Europe for €199 (around $250), according to our main man Jem Alexander who's currently on site at the press conference.

Though it will look the same as the PSP-2000 ~~(that's what the pic above is of, actually)~~, you can expect an improved screen that's better outside with no glare and a built-in mic. This jibes with rumors we've heard previously, and ~~but we don't know if~~ the new "PS Button" is part of the package. We'll keep you posted.

man fuck this im pissed at sony fuckin upgrading and not doing anything really worth while who gives a shit about a better screen how about a flash player or more ram for internet and loading those slow umds faster im not buying this im just happy with my super durable 1001 system

I really hope they release a black one in matte, not all glossy where you get fingerprints and scratches just by looking at it funny. : (

I sold my PS3 back in May for a loss and bought a 360, something I thought I'd never buy. Its reversed, the PS3s are starting to break and the new 360s are RROD free. I bought a Gamestop refurbished one because PS3s were supposed to be reliable and yet GTA4 broke the drive and Sony wouldn't fix it because it was Gamestop refurb. I never would buy a refurb 360 because of the build problems but PS3 I was confident.

Ok, I give in. What the heck does the PS Button do? I swear that button was on the PSP-1000, but I sold it ages ago, so I could be wrong.

I think the PSP 2000 is just the same with the PSP 3000. PSP 3000 just have a new microphone and a screen. Who would actually use the mic? But i actually say the screen is way better than the 2000. 3000 won't reflact in sunlight which is really good for ths people who brings to the street all the time.
If yu look carefully at the back of the new PSP, You will find out the fat one and the slim 2000 actually looks better. coz the ring is fatter. the ring of the 3000 is just to thin for me.

I think Sony should come out with a PSP 2 instead of wasting their time with these newer....versions of the PSP.

They should get rid of the UMDs and just use the space for better performance.

The main consoles get better money if you can download content online.

I think Sony should have no slot to put games or videos in and just buy games and videos online for cheap prices.

Sales will go up, less resources to use, and financial gain will have a big boost.

But what do I know? I live in Utah :)
