So wait, what's the difference between the Pro and Elite? Elite has bigger hard drive and..... is black? I guess according to wikipedia it has a HDMI cable.

Yeah, its black, larger hard drive, and includes a HDMI cable.

Though, its cheaper to go the elite route if you want the big hard drive.

ah, man. i just red ringed. now i'm tempted to send it back AND buy a 60GB. when they start allowing us to load games onto the HD that'd pay off, i'm sure.

Damm. MS is going to win big this holiday season. It just hit the sweet spot with the $199.99 model. Thats what everyone wants to see. From now on you can expect a steady sell rate for the 360.

God damnit! I just bought an arcade at least 4 months ago for $300! Now I could've gotten a Pro. Although, it would make any difference to me, since I had universal components and a friend gave me a free HDD.

The HDD drives prices are dropping. Didn't you guys read get the information from the E3? The 20GB that was $99 is being replaced with the 60GB for $99. The 120GB HDD is now $179. Both are still way to high, that's for sure, but at least you're not paying $99 for a friggin 20GB HDD. That was ridiculous. M$ is making a small fortune off of these drive with their overprice. The 60GB should be no more then $60 and the 120GB no more then $100. I'm pretty sure M$ is playing even less for those HDD's in bulk.

Put a coffin in the box and I'm sold. Should'nt have to wait for a coffin.

They could put a brick of gold in the box and your trolling ass still wouldn't buy it because you'd be giving a sale to Microsoft.

Will they blow out the 20GB hard drive? Might make it a deal to get the $199 Arcade and say a 50% off hard drive.

A standard list of the box's contents should also include a special collector's edition coffin. I'm on my 10th 360 and i should'nt have to wait for a coffin! I am starting to get really pissed of. No...I'm not. I can't quite explain it...but I suddenly like being inconvenienced. I seem to be...at peace. Does anybody else feel it too?

Hm. I work at a Radioshack and just today we finished with boxing up and shipping out all of our game consoles as per a company wide memo sent out recently. I assumed we were getting out the game business again, but perhaps it's part of a redistribution effort. Though, I'm not sure why this in particular would also affect the PS3s and DSs, which we also had to ship away.

your stock will be used to refurbish the japan stock. There will be a shitload of repair consoles in Japan that Microsoft did'nt account for accomodating. They NEVER plan for cleaning up their messes. Noone buys anything at Radioshack anyway, so your stock is the first to go. The japanese will now learn a hard lesson about Microsoft. All it takes is a one game to reel in the fish. Great work Microsoft. You can now expect a much longer turnaround on US repairs because of the new "priority customer" in Japan. Microsoft knows the US customer is already trained to be used to waiting and as always, could care less about them. This is gonna be good. Microsoft is not concerned about the US anymore and is trying to defeat the Wii, hence the stupid avatar gimmick.. They have givin up on the PS3 and are now focused on trying to be the number 2 gaming system until the next Xbox720, or whatever crap they can put together fast again without testing, comes out.

It doesn't take Michael Pachter to see what's going on here.

really you can find a 20gig hard drive on ebay new for about $50 bucks including shipping!
http://cgi.ebay.com/XBOX-360-OFFICIAL-Hard-Drive-20-GB-20GB-Microsoft-NEW_W0QQitemZ260277296589QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260277296589&_trkparms=72%3A552|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Also the ps3 is offering a 160 gig to replace the 80gig so don't go buying a old 80gig ps3 for 499! in 1.2 months you will be able to get a much better deal!

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see where it says the 60GB version is dropping to $299.99 in the ad.

So, let's review... when the 360 launched, you (essentially - headset, ethernet cable aside) paid $100 for 20Gb. Then when Elite launched, you paid $80 for 100Gb (and an HDMI cable, comparing the Pro to the Elite) or $180 for 120 Gb (compared to the Core).

Now, with this latest price cut, you pay $100 for 60Gb whether upgrading from from the Arcade to the new Pro or from the new Pro to the Elite. Somehow $80 for 100 Gb seems a lot better than $100 for 60Gb. What happened to MS's police of setting the price differences between the consoles on the (rediculoysly inflated) prices of the stand alone HDD?

wow this is totally sick. I am definitely getting one now. I will just get the $200 one. I can just buy a used hdd from ebay or amazon. then it will be just fine. I don't really care about having a pro or elite version.
