GC 2008: New Killzone 2 footage shows game is 'pre-beta'

While not as high quality as the falsified chat multiplayer trailer, the Kizzy Dos (remember, that's our nickname for Killzone 2) footage from Leipzig GC 2008 above does reveal that the game is now in pre-beta. When we last saw the game about a month ago at E3, K2 was rocking a pre-alpha build. We're happy to see the game progressing smoothly, even if we have to wait until February to play the final build. Here's to hoping developer Guerilla Games follows in the footsteps of its peers and opens a public beta for the game.

Totally different games with totally different gameplay. Do you own Sony or Guerilla stock? Are you afraid that if Sony doesn't sell as many games as Microsoft, that Sony will collapse and no longer be in the gaming business? Just curious!

I for one, am looking forward to both KZ2 and GW2.

What this guy is doing is not even as bad as some of the other resident anti-Sony assclowns like PremierAsshat or the 2006,7 Fernandos.

So what if he pokes some fun at another game or machine. Now, if he keeps doing the same thing month after month with no new material, then I could see the complaining.

Gears, R2, and KZ2 will sell millions of copies and it will show developers that games that require skill from the gamers and time, money, and SKILL from the developers are still worth it for publishers.

Jebus, Premiere has been banned like 16 times so that's a pretty poor example as to why this guy shouldn't be.

Fernando has as well, and really his stuff pales in comparison in terms of trollishness because at least he's generally touching on actual topics of conversation rather than just "LOLZ UR ALL GONA GETZ THE RED RINGZ CUZ UR DOOSHES LOLZIES!!"

Generally to make a game you at least have to have some IDEA or CREATIVE CONCEPT of some sort. This game...I've yet to see something that I haven't seen a million times before. Even COD4, Crysis, GOW and Halo had 4 or 5 good ideas to it that pulled it away from everything else. No, none of them reinvented the wheel, but it least it had something.
This game is gorgeous but man, the style is extremely cliche, the gameplay looks like an after thought, there's nothing to it.
It's like the developers said "hey, we wanna make an fps." Then, they just started making it with hopes that a concept for the game will just happen in the process of making it. That's not how it works.

In other words, if you don't have an idea for a story, put the pencil down and brainstorm a bit longer. You can't throw money at it and expect genius to come out.

While it was a trollish comment, to be fair I'm not exactly sure why KZ2 is being hyped up as this automatic triple A title that is considered AAA until proven otherwise rather than the other way around (considered average until proven otherwise) given what it is, an extremely hyped up sequel to an extremely hyped up game that ended up being only mediocre itself.

So the never been done b4 lean and peek cover system and the advanced lighting using differed rendering is NOT new?

Why does a game have to change everything to be good? And, how much more innovation can you expect from FPS?

If you can critique this game for bringing nothing new to the genre then Einstien....what BRILLIANT ideas that will revolutionize the FPS genre do you have?

I am going to be so poor. This is really annoying. Gonna have to cancel that trip to Disney this year.. :) need to pay for all the games Im getting. All I see is another high-resolution scene of unrealistic combat with all the body awareness of a bouncing pod with a barrel on it.. and some annoying guy barking at you occasionally. I am sure it looks great if you know or expect nothing about authentic combat.

Mirror's Edge and Far Cry 2 look far more interesting.

For those actually interested in the game, rather than coming here just to pass inane negative comments, a fabulous article on the multiplayer - seems like a different team worked on multi, and its looking even more exciting than the single player now.
