GC 2008: Stare into the (new videos of) Dark Void
You can see that things have improved markedly in these three new videos (two more can be found after the break). In them, Dark Void designer, Jose Perez III, details the game's story and concept, vertical gameplay, and flight gameplay, respectively. Airtight still has about a year of development time to make sure the game is, well ... airtight when it ships in '09.

When you post something you'll be sent an email to confirm yourself. In that email is a password to login. Go to one of your posts and click your name and then it'll ask you to login. Use your password they gave you and then you should probably create your own password. Once you're logged in you can change all that stuff

This is what Ironman the Videogame should have been like

Holy goddamn! I played this at E3 and loved it and agree wholeheartedly -- the game was sluggish as all hell which impaired my view greatly. On the shitty GameTrailers video it looks so much better. Waaaaay smoother. Totally looking forward to this and now I understand how Justin saw through the chuggy framerate to the glorious gameplay.

I cant wait for this game, it looks like it will be just plain and simple fun.

Well I was pretty impressed. Gives a real strong Gears of War vibe at times but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I don't get why the player can't just use the jetpack to climb those "vertical cover" scenes. Why not just fly above all the enemies and shoot them from above? This part doesn't make sense.
The Doctor @ Aug 21st 2008 2:59PM
Vertical cover would imply that he needs cover. So if he just fwooshes over them, he will become mildly inconvenienced by multiple bullets embedding themselves in his flesh.
PayTheMan @ Aug 21st 2008 4:39AM
One other thing-- why don't Will's legs burn off when the jetpack's flame and exhaust hit his legs?
syrik zero @ Aug 21st 2008 1:22PM
Because it's a fictional game.
The Doctor @ Aug 21st 2008 3:00PM
He stole his pants from the watchers too.
I think Giles always wore tweed.
