Meet 1ickTh3P0l3. He can vote. But why tell him that? When Rock the Vote comes to Xbox Live on Monday (the start of the Democratic National Convention), it won't find the disempowered young citizens eager to be mobilized it's expecting. In fact, the Xbox Live community is a conglomerate of well-organized sub-divisions -- or "clans" -- which communicate through a modified, verbalization of "133t speak" with a large admixture of derisive language; including racial, ethnic, gender, sex, and religious slurs. These nihilistic hatemongers shoot first, typically with rocket launchers, and top it off with a teabag over your dead body. Oh wait, these are just the Xbox Live users under 18. Imagine how the ones of legal voting age spend their nights and weekends ... And you want them rocking what now?

It's not about democrats or republicans. The economy goes in cycles. Granted, Wall Street/Fed delayed the inevitable, but that caused a more gradual downturn in the market rather than a sharp one.
No matter who wins the next presidency, they'll get praised for the economic rise because they're in the right place at the right time.
Examples:
Carter - down (prime at 21.5%)
Reagan - Up (besides the '87 crash, in his term, the Dow went from 970s to 2700s, Globalization of economy)
HW Bush - sorta down (recession in '90, inherited Reagan debt, raised taxes with Dem-controlled congress)
Clinton - Up (Dow reached 10000)
WBush - down (9/11, Dot-com bust, Housing bubble rise and burst)
Regarding Rock the Vote: I hate the fact that they claim to be non-partisan. Their mission statement says they're "controlled by nobody’s agenda but our own". Yeah, since their political director is the youth director for Barack Obama, we all know what their agenda is.

Don't worry their vote will be banned because all of them are going to vote for Hitler or Tits regardless of the candidates.
Also none of them are smart enough to figure out how Democracy works so Hello Electoral Frauds.

Yes, tmacairjordan87, yes there are. I use to play Gears of War with some dude in Detroit who eventually turned into a real asshole who kicked people if they were better than him and bitched and accused everyone of cheating. He also happened to be a staunch Bush supporter, but I don't think it was a coincidence.

Why can't you trust republicans? eh? Democrats are just soooo perfect and pure that they must be trusted??? Last I checked democrats were human too, and they have a worse track record than republicans, lets take john edwards for example, or the floridian senator who doesn't even live in his own district.
I didn't know that Joystiq was just so full of far left manic liberals.... No need to mock those who support Bush, it's wrong to mock someone for what he or she believes, grow up.

If Republicans were more like Teddy Roosevelt, I'd probably call myself a Republican, too.
McCain calls himself a TR Republican, but he literally has NOTHING in common with him. The entire Republican party shifted to the hard right when Reagan was elected, and they've slowly been undoing what TR and FDR did ever since.

I just have to say that Teddy was the man, and I would love to see him alive and in office again. That being said, he and FDR were not nearly the same. I say that believing, as a republican, that FDR was probably the best president this country has had.

Jerome Corsi, a veteran of the 2004 Swiftboating campaign that helped sink the candidacy of the Democratic Party's John Kerry, had his book "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" debut at No. 1 on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction best-seller list.
"The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate" by David Freddoso is currently ranked at number five. And another Obama-bashing tome, expected sometime next month, is tentatively titled "Obama Unmasked," and is written by Floyd Brown.
"Hype: The Obama Effect" -- a full-length documentary that attacks everything about the Democratic Party's presidential nominee -- will be premiering at the Regal Pavilions 15 in the host city. The free showing is being sponsored by Citizens United and Chairman Dick Wadhams of the Colorado Republican Committee.
During the 2004 presidential campaign, one of the earliest attacks against the Democratic Party's presidential candidate Senator John Kerry -- predating by several months the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth mega-attack on the candidate's military record -- was spearheaded by Floyd Brown's group, Citizens United, a long-time conservative enterprise.
The goal of the Citizens United advertisement was to make Kerry look like an elitist; a premise that Bush advisor Karl Rove and the campaign of the Republican Party's presidential candidate, Senator John McCain, has revived again this year. These days, in addition to the Obama-is-an-elitist message, he is also being defined by McCain as an empty suit -- a "celebrity" who is out of touch with regular folks.
In June of this year, Rove -- now a roving right-wing commentator with the Fox News Channel, the Wall Street Journal and other mainstream media platforms -- pulled the snob card from the deck. Speaking at a country club, Rove likened Obama, to "the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."
Bossie, who co-produced "Hype: The Obama Effect", which was directed and written by Alan Peterson -- who also directed "Fahrenhype 9/11," a response to Michael Moore's award-winning documentary "Fahrenheit 911" --
"Bossie is a political hatchet man whose career is based on smears and attacking Democrats," John Stauber, the executive director of the Centre for Media and Democracy, told IPS.
"Going back to the days when he was unremitting in his attacks against Bill and Hillary Clinton, Bossie's forte has never been accuracy," Reynolds said. "It has been bloodletting

I didn't mean to imply that they were the same. Just that they both set into motion policies that helped the average American citizen lead a better life, either through protecting land and natural resources for people to enjoy to...well, the New Deal.
They were both very populist in many respects.
As a result, they also both took on the robber barons of their time, which I REALLY wish we had a President doing that now.

There was one real republican who was in this race that I would have voted for in a second ... Ron Paul ... The problem is that all republicans have gone so far to the right and in doing so have lost the traditional conservative ways ... who is for war now over diplomacy? who is for big government spending now? The roles of the parties have flipped flopped in many many many ways.
Fun Fact:
When you here this talk about how we have a 10 trillion dollar debt and what not you should know it is a lie. That is simply the interest we owe on our debt which in reality is approaching 70 trillion ...
People need to turn off the TV and understand out country is on the verge of collapse and bankruptcy.

There's a big disconnect between TR and George W, and that's mostly because of Harry Truman. Truman supported Civil Rights, which caused Strom Thurmond and the Racist camp, which was tied to the States Rights and Libertarian camps (which isn't to imply that they are all racist, but that they simple had similar goals of weaker Federal Government), to abandon the Democratic party. They tried making it on their own for a while as the Dixiecrats, but eventually were welcomed to the Republicans by the likes of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew
