the interview was done before the announcement in Germany.

Any way these singstore updates have been disappointing to say the least.

Who wants to stand in front of their television and sing?

Honestly. Would you all please raise your hand and be accounted for? You require discipline and reeducation.

SingStar isn't about just standing in front of a tv and singing. Its about getting together with a bunch of friends, making a fool out of yourself then uploading the video to make an even bigger fool of yourself.

besides who wants to sit in front a tv and just press buttons on a controller? haha.

Both my 12 year old daughters would be happy to kick you in the nuts for your opinion!

SingStar is fun fun fun for teens or drunk adults...Especially 40 yr old guys (like me) reliving the 80s.

A better question is...who doesn't?

I love SingStar. However, they really, really need to read The Long Tail. We're talking about digital distribution on songs through the store and the offer is anemic.

That IGN article quotes the producer of the game saying there are 500 songs on the US store. Apparently he hasn't been there in awhile. Try 300.

Hopefully the vol. 2 songs will be on the store in short order after the release of the disc.

SingStar is great, but it could be so much better.

PS - When are they gonna make the video/audio sharing community web accessible like it is in Europe?

Why haven't they come up with an easy way to let North Americans buy songs from the European SingStores? :-( I'm finding the American SingStore offerings lacking.

They can't do that because of licensing issues. The rights are different for NA and Europe.

I find it pretty funny how often SCEE portrays their userbase as complete idiots with these pictures.

Every time you see a PS3 in an SCEE advertisement, you see it RIGHT IN FRONT of the television screen.. on its side (which is just dumb) with the cords dangling down the front.

What are you trying to tell people SCEE? No one actually owns a PS3? They're all just rented or communal devices only to be hooked up temporarily?

I completely disagree.

First off, the PS3 is not right in front of the TV, it's off to the side of the TV.

It's an advertisement that is meant to display the game and the PS3. What do you want them to do, put the PS3 into a dark cabinet so that you can't see it just because that's how we probably do it at home?

It's standing up so that that there is no mistaking that it's a PS3.

That's pretty much how mine looks when I bring it over a friends house.

Finally, the cords dangling down the front is the USB dongle that you plug the microphones into. No avoiding that.

They said they wanted to do wireless mics but it would've delayed the game more. They do plan on releasing wireless mics down the road. Especially since Lips is releasing with wireless mics. The cords are really long anyway so its not to big of a deal.

It would be nice if they added the feature the Microsoft added to their singing game where you can use your own collection.
