GameTrailers has put together another one its "totally bias" videos comparing Bionic Commando Rearmed to Bionic Commando. We're sure the NES fanboys are already all in a twitter about how Capcom was too lazy to port Rearmed to the NES and how this is an unfair juxtaposition of the two games. Capcom totally should have made a port of Rearmed for the NES so GT could make a proper comparison video. Quick, someone start an online petition to rectify this! It's all so unjust!

Yeah its actually made me think that some of these older companies (or the companies that own the IPs) should do a few more remakes.
Some of the kids should get to see some of the games we used to play like; Double Dragon, MegaMan, Icari Warriors, ... ... pretty much any platformer from the NES

I wanna see a remake if Ikari Warriors, Jackal, or one of those. Although assault heroes is pretty close to what jackal would probably be. What would a remade beat-em-up look like? I'd have a nerdgasm if they remade Double dragon 2, which was basically a remake of double dragon 1.

First off, why would us "NES fanboys" be up in arms(Yes, I'm an NES fanboy, as you would say)? Anyone that grew up with Bionic Commando have been all about this remake, and the comparison vid is really cool. The whole "two Atari 2600s duct-taped together" bit was unnecessary, too. Christ.

We... well, we found you in a Walmart dumpster, wrapped in an oily WWF t-shirt. You don't have to say anything. I know it's a lot to take in all at once. But maybe this will explain your quick temper and need to speak before thinking.
No, they didn't, the enemy logo in the game still looks like a Nazi flag, except with a black eagle in the middle instead of a swastika. There are other little tidbits, plus there's the whole "Master-D" thing aka "The Leader."
Of course it's not like the Japanese version of Bionic Commando ("Top Secret"), but it's all good
Pretty sweet comparisons. Overall I've really enjoyed Rearmed as a longtime BC fan from the NES days. Only a couple of things I miss though...the flying helicopter dudes on the NES were WAY cooler than the flying drones on Rearmed. And on the NES version, I loved to go through Area 4 without the flare to prove my powers of awesome. Not sure that's possible on the new version...but once I beat it I'm gonna try!
And holy crap is the Albatross level hard on Rearmed compared to the original!!!
This just reinforces my belief that the best gaming exoeriences on these next gen consoles is on downloadable network content. Bionic Commando Ra Braid R&C Quest For Booty PJ Eden & Monsters Ikaruga Super Stardust HD *World Of Goo* (Hopes)
to name a few ...
I would rather buy 3 or 4 downloadable games than a full blown release like Too Human.

It's been so long since I've played that I hadn't even noticed the difference in the heli-guys/drones change. Good catch!
P.s. The heli-guys of yesterday were a much cooler nemesis than the dumbot floater of today.

I call BS. If you look closely, you can see the NES buttons displayed in the "XBLA" version. They just played the "NES" one with graphics turned down.

i never played BC but i did play BC:rearmed demo on XBLA and this video shows that the rearmed version is more or less a remake of the original?
