I think the real appeal of this, aside from more functional online play with voice chat, is how thoroughly integrated with the Wii Message Board it's going to be

Getting notifications from your town when you're not playing, so that you don't have to play just to keep tabs of what's going on, but can play when something cool comes up

I would love to see some games included in this like the NES games in the original. I think it would be a great selling point for people who aren't sure if they want to fork up the money for a game that is essentially "Wild World" on the big screen.

If nothing else, it would be interesting to tie the other Wii channels (particularly VC titles) into each AC avatar's possessions.

But yeah, one thing I loved about the GCN version is that it was like a mini-virtual console before the Wii existed.

Also, I liked how the GCN version of AC could be played entirely without the disc in the 'cube once it booted up. There were three systems where I lived when I was hooked on AC so that trick actually came in pretty handy!

I dont think i will get this. I have the ds one but dont play it because you basicly have to play everyday since it works around a real clock. If you dont play for a while, a bunch of weeds grow and people leave your town. Its really aggrivating.

They expect you to take short visits everyday. :P
They expect you to be more social... er... in a video game. Haha! :P

Guess it's not for everyone.

I don`t know if its confirmed, but it would be cool if the weather channel was inegrated into the game. So if its raining in your area it`s raining in the game. I think it would be cool.

They opted out of that functionality, fearing for people who live in climate extremes like Sicily (for over-sunniness), Arizona, or Alaska

"Another cool DS-to-Wii feature will allow you to "take your travel data and download it to your DS." We've no idea what that will entail exactly, but it sounds promising."

Maybe it's like transferring your travel data to your memory card in the Game Cube version? You jump onto your memory card, take it to a friend's house, and wander around in their town.

This game will be really cool if they really spread on the new features.

That's exactly what it is. I remember reading about it at (I think) Game | Life around E3. You can basically migrate your avatar between Wii consoles using the DS to transport it.

I've played this game twice already. Don't need to play it again.

I'm shocked that they are going more for Wii/DS connectivity than WW/GC connectivity.

Why can't I bring all my kick ass gear I collected in the GC version into City Folk? Sadly, I bet the answer it "The Virtual Console".

Ever since that service started, Nintendo wants nothing to do with any game that features playble versions of NES or SNES classics.

BUMMER DUDE!!

I'm all for this.
I miss the GC version... I know I could play it anytime, but ever since my gf would play nothing but the DS version, I felt like I couldn't even touch the GC version anymore (since I already have my own DS copy)... you know, to be "with the times". :P

The GC version had less random characters and was more chill. The DS felt like I was living in a town full of crazies who wanted me to never stop doing chores for them!
Ahhhh~ Spending December, hanging out, playing games in people's Igloos... how fun and nice was that?

And the night life was also pretty nice... relaxin' and hangin' out with the late-nighters as I fished in the beach.

I can't wait for this one... I hope they don't go chore-crazy like the DS version, and I hope they're not as mentally-insane as the DS version. And it'd be nice to hang out in other people's towns via Wi-Fi.
Sending mail and leaving messages on the message boards was my favorite thing to do.

And I hope they follow the GC-version's route when it comes to music... the music in the DS was definitely more happy, but a little too happy. Where was the relaxin' music?

And I also can't wait what K.K. Slider will bring up next! :D Those were awesome Saturday nights.

They need to have a little black & white Game Boy in this one. Bring back the idea of collecting games, but use the original Game Boy games (especially since they're not available anywhere else).

I was so looking forward to Animal Crossing Wii. I had fun with the DS version, but I couldn't wait to see the concept taken to the next level. But I feel let down at how similar the Wii version looks.

"Sure, Animal Crossing: City Folk has some new stuff, but none of it is really that innovative or indicative of the franchise going into any kind of new direction."

Never mind Nintendo finally giving us voice chat...

It should allow you to transfer your travel data via your Wii remote. I don't even really bother transferring my Miis; I just sent my Mii to all my friends so it's on their console.

And they better not be getting my hopes up with this DLC thing.
