Konami has detailed how its
seven-input drum set will be
compatible with
Rock Band 2 and
Guitar Hero: World Tour's kits, which have four and five inputs, respectively. We've been informed that the game will "reconfigure" itself depending on the set being used with the game. For example, instead of seven lines of music, it will adjust to four when using the
Rock Band 2 drums and five for
GH:WT. The company expects its drums to be
compatible with the competition's via a patch issued after launch.
The company has also told us that
reports of the game's delay to 2009 only applies to Europe. The game is "still on track for a fall 2008" release in North America. We're sure all the rhythm-game fanboys out there are breathing a sigh of relief ... right? Hello?

Does anyone in NA plan to buy this game?
colin @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:12PM
the "A" stands for anonymous, so i doubt any members will fess up.
Neebs @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:14PM
Maybe.
If I can use my RB PS3 drums and my RB PS3 guitar(s) I don't see why I shouldn't pick up another good rhythm game with an actually good soundtrack (even if it's all covers).
gir @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:15PM
If it lets you make biscuits.
Mr.ESC @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:23PM
I’m not sure what NA means but to be honest I don’t know if I'll buy Rock Band 2 and is supposed to be teh sh*t for the fact that I have so much work I have to work Weekends now and I only get to play anything after 22:30 so I don’t think my neighbors will appreciate it.
Now that if we could hire some damn employees there would be a good chance.
Mr.ESC @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:25PM
With we I meant me and my new symbiote, yeah.
neko to kuruma @ Aug 23rd 2008 12:27AM
Buy? No. Take out a used copy from work? Yes.
Dave Silva @ Aug 23rd 2008 1:15AM
I probably will.
If only because my name is going to be in the credits. -_-
TendoMan @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:34PM
NA = North America *slaps hand of forehead*
Too many goddamn games. I like RB and all, but shit, If I want to get all the games, and use them to the full potential, I'm going to have so many fake instruments cluttering up my House. My Fiancee would be pissed. lol.
Mr.ESC @ Aug 22nd 2008 8:12PM
You don't know how to use the reply button? *slaps hand of forehead*
Lol J/K
With that say remember that in the path of learning there are many facepalms. Oh yeah I kind of lost my focus today because I have a heavy amount of work today that I still need to finish (Stupid employees ARRGGHHHH!!!!!!)
Yeah I know what you mean I might pass on some Rpgs and Jrpgs also that this game isn’t totally necessary not to mention my experience with GH2 taught me is that sometimes I just want to sit down and hear the damn song
DCBlack @ Aug 23rd 2008 12:31AM
Luckily, the point of this post was to point out that all 3 games would be compatible with the same set of peripherals. So if you're like me and you have a GHIII guitar, RB guitar, and RB drums and mic, you won't need any more peripherals (for now, at least). Of course, if your fiancee can't tolerate that, well you're out of luck then I suppose.
That said, I'll probably get this eventually, maybe after a price drop because I'm not loving that setlist, especially if they're all covers.
whymog @ Aug 22nd 2008 7:37PM
This is a huge relief for the fourteen people who can't wait to buy Rock Revolution.
Terrence Newton @ Aug 22nd 2008 8:12PM
hmm.. since the RB2 drums support up to 3 cymbal attachments, it would seem that you'd be able to *perfectly* emulate the rock revolution drums. (same goes for GH:WT). theoretically, you could play all 3 games perfectly with one drum set. but will konami and activision support the cymbals? i hope they do..
umm....hello??? @ Aug 22nd 2008 8:16PM
heh...I'm planning on getting RB2, not sure about GH:WT or RR....do we even have songlists for RockRevolution yet??
mikazi @ Aug 23rd 2008 8:41AM

There You Go :)
MasterCKO @ Aug 22nd 2008 8:22PM
I played RR at Comic-Con. The interface is terrible for the drums. Seriously bad. Sigh.
Will I buy this? Depends on the song list, but most likely not. Nothing really compelling about it from what I can tell so far.
Kaioh @ Aug 22nd 2008 10:10PM
This game has no relevance at all, anymore. If it had been released before the first Guitar Hero, people MIGHT have given a shit.
Now, it's just gonna be a waste of money for everyone involved, company, and the three people that might buy it.
Metsubo @ Aug 23rd 2008 4:39PM
It's funny because they did release this before the first guitar hero. It was called Guitar Freaks/Drummania and they went through about 12 or 13 games before Guitar Hero or Rock Band even came out. They just never brought it over here because they didn't think it would sell in America. The great thing about the Bemani ones was that they had mostly custom soundtracks(which are phenomenal) with a few popular songs thrown in which is the opposite of what Harmonix does. I get the distinct feeling that that's NOT happening in Rock Revolution, though.
Kaioh @ Aug 24th 2008 2:11AM
Yes, Guitar Freaks did release before Guitar Hero. However, you seem to, mistakenly, assume these are the same games. They are not.
Rock Revolutuon uses the same basic elements as Guitar Freaks but it is NOT the same game. I've seen Guitar Freaks, even played it once (it was at a con), and Rock Revolution is not Guitar Freaks.
Therefore, my initial statement still stands. This game has no relevance at all in the current video game market.
So, guess what? It's not funny, and you're a misinformed idiot.
Hoffer @ Aug 22nd 2008 10:41PM
I am more likely to try this game if it will work with controllers from other games. No way I'm buying Rock Revolution controllers.
Maybe sometime early next year, when the game's price drops, I might give it a try.

Tiptup300 @ Aug 23rd 2008 2:07AM
If this was like the setlist to RB or GH:WT, you would have got upvoted, but frankly nobody cares about this game.
svenhoek @ Aug 23rd 2008 3:05AM
Sk8ter Boi? I feel dirty just typing that. There is no way i will ever play a game that forces me to play that song. I will quit playing when I get that far.
I might just rent this game. But I sure as hell wont be spending 60 bucks on it?
svenhoek @ Aug 23rd 2008 3:08AM
My comment is rife with inaccuracies.
For one, sk8er boi. Without a t
For two, that last sentence is not a question. Im very sure I wont be spending that much.
dark_inchworm @ Aug 23rd 2008 4:41AM
Honestly, some of those exclusive tunes whoop ass. Holy Wars, Dr. Feelgood, Walk, Cum On Feel The Noize...
Too bad they're all covers :-/
Dudek @ Aug 23rd 2008 7:40AM
Just to point out that "All My Life" is on a DLC from GH3.
Anyway, that's cool of you to have brought up the setlist for those who don't know it, even though the game isn't so appealing.
Xoviet chiK @ Aug 23rd 2008 12:04PM
I really hope these songs aren't "Exclusive" for long. Some of them would be pretty fun in RB or GHWT, as long as they weren't covers.
ryan @ Aug 22nd 2008 11:37PM
whheewww... thank goodness, we nearly escaped. Europe we are very sorry.
uglyteradon @ Aug 25th 2008 8:06AM
This is the perfect example of old companies not being to keep up with solid developers like Harmonix. There is absolutely nothing about this game that appeals to me, I think that every song being a cover speaks for itself.
This game is cheap, because Konami either doesn't take it seriously or is completely flustered on how to develop a game like this.
