This has to be one of the most incredibly overproduced game trailers in existence. It's like SEGA and BioWare hired the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack producer and forced him to write a full-blown soundtrack for Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Sonic has never had so much fanfare, especially on such a small system.
Zack nailed this in his hands-on impression, and the gameplay backs it up, but it looks like you could have dropped any ol' characters into this real-time RPG. When we hear the name Sonic, we tend to think hyper-speed running and gold rings flying all over the place. Call us old fashioned.
Still, this trailer is sure to wake you if you're in that end-of-the-week coma.

This game is going to be very good... finally a good Sonic since Sonic Adventure and Sonic and The Secret Rings.
I hope it can deliver. The idea might be weird, but same thing happened with Super Mario RPG and nos is one of the best RPG's.

Secret Rings sucks more crap than a scat lover.
Honest to god, I bought that game at launch and immediately wanted to kill myself.
The game suffers from a lack of anything resembling gameplay. Also, you use about three or four movements/ buttons for the ENTIRE game.
And it blasts awful, awful progressive rocky bullshit music at you everytime you load the thing.

Is this the new Duke Nukem Trilogy Trailer? Also they didn't need that fancy soundtrack.They could've just used Requiem for a Dream/Lacrimosa since they make everything sound EPIC!

This game is being developed by BioWare. They have a very good lineup: Baldurs Gate series, Mass Effect, KOTOR, Neverwinter series.
If someone can make a good RPG with Sonic, is BioWare.

I say Sonic isn't as good as it used to be but it's not death unless Sega decides to move to the M+ stuff and pull the plug on their mascots like what they did to Alex Kid.
That day would be sad I mean Sega had many original concepts it would be sad to see them go the way of every developer doing Bloody FPS with Brown filters for 12 year olds and social rejects like everyone and their Grandma.

Besides, Sonic collected enough rings in both of the Rush games on the DS to earn a few continues.
He'll be back, he just has to start the current world over from Act 1, which of course means a sequel to Sonic 2006. I expect it to rip its story straight from the Cell games.

You know there are some great games coming that I really looked forward too but I don't feel hyped like in 07 maybe is the fact I'm getting older or that the stuff MS added to the water to make you feel hyped in 07 disappeared.
So far my list is Gears 2, Silent Hill 5,Fallout 3 and Fable 2.
Plus Megaman 9,Castle Crashers, Chrono Trigger,Sonic and Wario land.

Maybe its because all the hype drained out early this year. First half of the year got GTA, Smash Bros, MGS, Mario Kart

At this point, Sonic could use some time being not-Sonic-ish. For the record, I lost hope when Shadow the Hedgehog came out, and mercifully killed my hardcore Sonic fan pride when they introduced Silver. He's a telekinetic white hedgehog from the dystopian future. How did they green-light that?
(Side note - Sonic Rush was just okay enough to make me hope again, I think so Unleashed can crush it again.)

Once I saw characters that debuted in Sonic Adventure and it's sequel in this trailer....that was the end of it for me. Thanks agian Sega, another reason why Sonic The Hedgehog is a joke.
Only Unleashed remains in question.....it's the last game that still has me on the fence. I'm am old school sonic fan like many of you, and if Unleashed becomes crap, I'm gonna quit being a Sonic fan.

Sonic and The Secret Rings is the best 3D Sonic since Sonic Adventure...
Just think: How many Sonic games were developed in the Gamecube and PS2? And then the Sonic 360/PS3.
The only good reviewed 3D Sonics are Sonic Adventure and Sonic and The Secret Rings. Is a great games, with great graphics and gameplay. The only mistake is that at the beggining Sonic is to slow, but after a few stages, it becomes really fast.
I personally love The Secret Rings.

I loved the dramatic zoom on the DS towards the end. Gloriously overdone. I mean, it's still a screen the size of your hand. Zooming didn't help.
