The much ballyhooed Team Fortress 2 Heavy Update that Valve released this past Tuesday will be heading to the Xbox 360 by year's end, according to Gamespot. At last, you can start cracking your knuckles and bone up on your sandvich eating skillz. Just watching those videos made us want to start playing TF2 again. We know, you're saying, "What?! Why'd you put it down in the first place?"
New maps, new weapons, and new achievements? What's not to love? Anything that can extend the wonderment of TF2 is just fine by us. Now get cracking on a massive Portal update, already. The XBLA title is only going to keep us sated for so long.

I heard Valve said that Microsoft required the update to cost MSPoints. Is this true?

Yes it is. Gabe Newell of Valve was interviewed at the Games Convention in Germany.
Question: "Do you feel comfortable with doing console versions? To be absolutely blunt, is it purely a money thing? Or, aesthetically, does it make you happy to be able to deliver 360 versions?"
Answer: "Or we can do the Pyro updates, and the Medic updates [and so on]. On the consoles, they want us to charge money for them, because that’s in their model, and our model is very much more to grow the community by giving out free updates. That’s harder for us."

This reminds me, the internet is at it again with the Heavy update. They've made a replacement model for the sandvich that is a baby.
And I'm going straight to hell for laughing at it.

Damn, those two replies weren't there when I last posted. My last post was aimed at Jakka's first reply.
As for the second, yes, I have a pic, and yes, she is quite naked. If you really want to see it, I suggest you pay Google a visit.
Rule 34, my friends.

Sorry to break it for ya, but by the time Valve is read, this will become a mega-update that includes unlocks for each class.
Oh, and WOOT! for all 360 TF2 Players!

This game is stupid. The people who play it are stupid. Valve fans are members of a brainless cult, and nothing proves it more than this idiotic update. I thought the rave over the completely mediocre, boring Portal was the lowest Valve fanboys could go ... but now we have online sandwich eating.

A little too late Valve I mean me and my 8 friends keep playing it but you have to admit that if you don't keep things Fresh they all rot especially in consoles.Communities die in an accelerating rate in consoles especially with Gears 2 coming.
I would pay for it yeah but what is the point if the place is empty.I might move on to the PC version but as the time passes that idea seems more and more unlikely.

It's much easier to update things on the PC because Microsoft doesn't have a big hand in it; Valve can update TF2 whenever they're ready and don't have to deal with any kind of certification process.
Also, keep in mind Valve has a tendency to take a long time doing anything, whether it's patches or games. It's a small company with a large attention to quality and detail.

What's this about? Don't they release free updates sometimes? Burnout for example.

I could be wrong but maybe is for all the space it will take to host it I mean we are talking about all the updates.
Now that they could do it in small chunks then update the game more often.
I don’t know if they are being forced or they are trying to get in to the wonderful world of the Microtransactions but hey at least is there.
Now that what should I do? Buy the update to play it with probably a handful of people? or play the PC version in which I doubt I could get the Medic and Pyro achievements now that everyone is doing the Heavy achievements and it gets worst for the newbies the older it gets. The PC version could probably last years but it will become more and more unfriendly for newcomers.

Maybe you aren't a good Spy, I backstabbed 14 in a row once.
Everyone was so paranoid half their team went Pyro and needless to say the soldiers in my team were pretty thankful for my services to the team.
Now that I rarely sap sentries, some people can pull off the whole stab sap thing but with me is random luck to the point I rather hunt down the Engineer and then sap the sentry or I just go Sniper/Medic/Heavy hunting.

Well it's good and all that they will do this, but, tbh, its always gonna be best played on a PC.

I thought the publisher decides the price of DLC, not Microsoft? Isn't that why Gears of War's DLC whas 10 bucks?

FINALLY!
Regarding this is better played on the PC, I would have to disagree. I'm a huge fan on the console version, and had never played the PC version. I picked up the PC version after the medic update and although the maps were different (Which is cool), I felt the control just wasn't as tight. Not to mention those playing snipers were ridiciously good at picking me off and soon as I spawned (NOT FUN). Some maps are a little too open. Anyway, I much prefer the console version and welcome the updates there. Having played that version first and gotten used to the controls, for some reason it just feels better. And as far as players there, I've yet to never find anyone online to play a game. It's always busy anytime of the day.

nick, I agree with you 100%.
I'd like to add, the tf2 360 community is great. COD4 by comparison, is full of whiney English twats who seem to always be drunk and shout abuse at you at every occasion.
I like the Americans, in general, I have a great online time talking to my USA friends.
GO USA!!!!

1600 points? I'd pay it!!!!
16000 points? Yeah. I'd pay that too.
For me, tf2 is THE best online multiplayer fps there is. Yeah, the 360 version is nerf'd somewhat but hey, I'd rather play it on my 50" lcd than my 24" pc lcd screen.
GO VALVE!

I love the console version because the controls feel more natural than the PC... Not to mention you would have to shell out some serious cash for an UBER-PC to run tf 2 well.
