The developer walkthrough provided for Capcom's upcoming swing-action retro remake, Bionic Commando, is one of the most educational videos yet to come out of the Leipzig Games Convention. Not only does the two-part sneak preview explain some of the game's core controls, but it also provides a valuable primer into the German language. For instance, we now know that the German word for "leap" is "sprung", "punch" is the phonetically pleasing "schlag", and "wenn dieser Entwickler hinunter sagt, und beschmutzt noch eine Zeit, werde ich ihn in Brand setzen" means "if this developer says 'down and dirty' one more time, I'm going to set him on fire."
Both halves of the walkthrough are posted after the break. The first part focuses on a rough build of the game's training stage, while the second highlights one of Bionic's multiplayer levels. Auf was warten Sie? Klicken Sie die Verbindung!

The only German I know is from Call of Duty games, Rammstein songs, and the stuff that I magically spoke completely fluently when I woke from anesthesia one time

A real good concept the game looks great but you can tell the best ratings its going to get is 8.5-8.9 from the looks of things.
It just doesn't have the productivity of a AAA title. Hopefully they release it next year or else it'll be lost in the holiday rush...

Im surprised, this actually looks really good. I was starting to think it was going to be just another halfassed rehash of an old license, but this looks like a game that will score in the 9's.

Strange the commentary is in German as the developer is Swedish. Something clearly doesn't match here 100%. (Somebody needs to do their homework obviously ;))

Perhaps it has something to do with that the presentation was held at the *Leipzig* Games Convention, a city which last time I checked was not located in Sweden... ;)

"if this developer says 'down and dirty' one more time, I'm going to set him on fire." = "wenn dieser Entwickler hinunter sagt, und beschmutzt noch eine Zeit, werde ich ihn in Brand setzen"
So wrong...
The correct translation would be: "Wenn der Entwickler noch einmal "down and dirty" (there's no real expression for this in German, maybe "auf die harte Tour") sagt, dann setz ich ihn in Brand"

The last german sentence makes really no sense and is just wrong...
The translation for "one more time" is NOT "noch eine Zeit". (Even though from a certain view of strict vocabulary translation it's right...but no one says it that way). The right translation is just "noch einmal". No time (=Zeit)...
And "down and dirty" has no real reasonable expression in German at all. Probably kinglekz's translation "auf die harte Tour" is right.
Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache....

There isn't much hype around this game for some reason, it hasn't been shown by the media very much (comparing to other super hyped titles like star wars force unleashed, mirror's edge, and many others).
But it looks like it could be the year's winner. If not it certainly has some of the greatest & most atmospheric environments created, alongside with fallout 3. And the animation is amazing, nothing like the ninja gaiden, snappy insect -like animation of force unleashed which really disappointed me.

and once again, google prooves that its translator sucks... bit I guess its alright as german really is a difficult language, most of the native speakers have problems with the grammar (me for example^^)
plus I think its great that you can learn a bit here ;-)
though i first had to read the english version to understand the translation *g*
