Rhythm game Helix coming to WiiWare tomorrow
Trying to get those chunky pounds to come right off, but you're unable to find a copy of the elusive Wii Fit anywhere within a fifty-mile radius? Perhaps a new WiiWare title, due out tomorrow, can temporarily fill the void -- Ghostfire Games' rhythm-fitness title Helix. The game, which will cost 1000 Wii Points, will have players performing 30 different gestures with two Wiimotes to the beat of 26 songs from independent artists. Ghostfire CEO Ed Roman highlighted the game's health benefits, saying that you can "really burn some calories playing this game." Based on the gameplay video we've posted after the break, you'll probably look totally cool whilst doing so.

I dunno, I thought the drummer from the Wii Music E3 demo looked pretty cool.

You're "Working out" using a videogame system. "Looking cool" is the last thing you should be worried about.

Doesnt' look like too much of a workout if you do a few movements and stop for a second or two to wait for the next set...

Oh sweet! I'm so excited that WiiWare is putting up some really quality titles! Screw all that interesting stuff like World of Goo.

is it me or are the action happening way before the timing line? Do you even need to be in time?
I think WiiWare has proved that Nintendo's anal stance on access to developer licenses for the system has not paid off. I mean it costs 10's of thousands, you need official companies, premises and years of financials and this is the sort of this we get. There are homebrew and independent developers that could create great games for this system if they could only get access to it.
I think MS has gone the right way with XNA.
Mr Khan @ Aug 24th 2008 7:01PM
Ehh, Wii has an XNA equivalent, it's just not Nintendo-sanctioned ;)

Actually, that the goal of the game, the little dude does the movement, and you got to reproduce it on the timeline, i mean, you have to imitate the movement on the exact time.

Man, been waiting for this game for quite a while. since I'm not able to find a WiiFit (anyone selling yours) 'll be using this game as a suplement to my excercise routine. Been raining pretty hard lately and I don't like to go on a walk while raining
