I dont need this either but I wouldnt pay more than 30 bucks for it. Even thats alittle high. 50 is the price of a controler which is used all the time. How often are you gonna use this thing?! Maybe if a game were to come out to use it but that would be rediculous.

Try more like $100+ for a bluetooth keyboard, and justify (to your girlfriend.. sigh) having that fulltime in the living room, especially when 90% of typing I do is simple 'COD. Now' messages and filling out a few forms.
It's a great compact idea, I was going to get the logitech mini keyboard, but it's not cheap. Happy to pay around $40 for this (which is honestly a reasonable price), $50 is pushing it a little.

Since when have controllers looked nice? They have to be functional and seeing that you haven't had this one in your hand you can't really judge it.

im with Da. i really wanted to get a keyboard for my PS3 but i wasnt crazy about having a full one. i was seriously considering the Logitech DiNovo Mini but i figured it wouldnt be able to turn the console off and on, requiring me to have the controller by me anyway. i think this is the best solution.

so i was thinking around $30 is what i would pay but i would probably pay $50 anyway for it. the DiNovo Mini is like $150 and i was gonna buy that, so $50 isnt that bad.

Yeah, I was using my old Playstation2 keyboard and mouse, then I snagged a wireless set for about $20 (unfortunately not bluetooth, hence the cheap cost).

So I wouldn't pay much for a cramped little thumboard like this. Though I would buy it if it was cheap enough, because it would be more convenient... as long as it doesn't have a dongle. Dongle = FAIL.

Oh, but also, $50 wouldn't surprise me since that's about what everyone else charges for their crappier thumboards... and that's why I never bought one.

Well with today's economy, I'd pay $20 or less for something i don't need.

My wireless keyboard works just fine

It is an actual bluetooth keyboard that can also be used as a touchpad for browsing the internet etc. It's not just an add-on. I'm pretty sure they said it works just like any other bluetooth keyboard and is compatible with other devices.

It looks like it has good build quality and to be honest, I wouldn't mind paying £20 ($40) for this. After playing on home, this is definitely needed as it takes WAY too long to type anything out on the on-screen keyboard and I don't really want to leave a full-sized keyboard lying around the living room.

actually even if it does work with phones i wont be getting it, i never use my phone

I'd pay about £30 now for one, any more and I'd have to wait but only because they are bring out too many games.

Too many... is that possible...

It may end up on my Xmas list with Home on its way out too I'll need it, I suck at the on screen keyboard then again, on Home I wont be rushing to type something before I get headshotted in MGO :|

$49.99 is definitely too much. While, $24.99-29.99 would be a better sweet spot. personally the short cuts to friends and messages is what really caught my attention. also since, it is a bluetooth qwerty you can also use it with other bluetooth enabled devices which is also a plus. I do woder what the comfort factor will be like with games using the R1 & L1 for primary functions.

$40 or less for 1st party quality, convenience. Has its own battery and BT so can be used seperately or attached (unlike the cheaper versions from X and MadCatz)...dedicated buttons are a win and it won't take up a ton of space in the entertainment area.

What you people seem to realize is that this is blue tooth enabled and can be used a a mouse (laptop style) by pressing a button and then rubbing your fingers over the keyboard. The Blue tooth allows you to use it with any blue tooth enabled device. Plus it can be used sepearate of the controller. I would much rather use this than to use a full sized keyboard and mouse.

Forgot to say how much I'd pay for it. While $50 is a little steep for an add on like this, because of the tech and the convenience factor and the fact that it's a keyboard and a mouse in one...and the fact that it is first party, makes it worth it IMO. If it were less, of course I'd be happy to pay less but I still don't mind paying $50 for it and I am definitely planning on getting this.

I definitely don't want a full-sized keyboard and mouse sitting on the coffee table. This is nice, but I don't know how placing the keyboard at the top of the controller would fare out compared to the Xbox 360 keyboard add-on. It seems like you have to stretch a bit more to access the top keys. I'm also fearing that the front weight will be pushed downwards. Let's hope not.

I think it's at a reasonable price, though.

I think you're meant to shift your hands upward when you type, so that your ring fingers rather than your middle fingers are "locked" into the underside "grips" on the DS3. I have, of course, never held the device, so I could be wrong.

I'd pay about $30 or so. It has 2 things going against it:

1. The keypad looks very awkwardly placed above the controller itself. Maybe it'll work, but it doesn't seem as convenient as the Xbox's placement.

2. It looks like a chastity belt for your DualShock. Not pretty.

$20 is the most I would be willing to pay, but only because I already have a USB Keyboard I use. Still, if they put this up for $20, they can expect a lot of sales.

Why Sony'd design, create and sell something like this is beyond me. At $40-50 it's an insult. Maybe there's one or two (crappy) games that need fast typing? (and don't support a USB keyboard?!) I don't get it. FOCUS, Sony!

Do you people not realize this is intended for HOME? Who wants to walk around with their controller, set it down and type for a while and then pick up their controller again and walk around, etc. It puts it all in one place for you.

I don't get how you all pay so much for games, your system, your tv etc. yet won't pay a measly $50 for a conveinent keyboard add-on.

Using the controller to type makes typing a game (there should be trophies for words per minute) so I don't need a keyboard, but if I did I'd say $30 max
