Play with Sackboys around the world: LBP not region locked

The confusion about region locking revolved around moderation requirements required in different sections of our own little big planet. Apparently Sony has "worked around" this issue and now all shared levels will be available worldwide when the game releases in October.

This is great because now we will be able to try some of the amazing levels not designed in our region. :)
Thanks Mm.

This game will be great from a graphics standpoint but ultimately I think all the hype will die when you finish the main game and spend maybe a few hours toying with the create system.
Sorry but I don't think the vast majority of gamers (even ps3 owners) will really spend a lot of time with this editor that Joystiq and the sdf here seem to think will make this game epic a true system seller.
It will get decent scores though so at least it won't end up like Haze.

LIES! Lies and you know it!
This game will appeal to many people since it targets just about anybody. I mean look around websites and forums and you will see that most of the people are already planning their ideas for this game and are really excited for the "creating" aspect of LBP.
I dunno. I think PS3 gamers will spend alot of time with this game.

I can't believe that there are people who still don't get this.
The longevity of this game doesn't have anything to do with mass usage of the level editor. The added value comes from the enthusiastic few who make good free levels. This phenomenon happens all the time, and yet people still think that somehow this game's success depends on *everyone* who plays investing the time it requires to make a full level. It doesn't. Just like every other game in the world with level editing ability, it (relatively speaking) only takes a few creative and enthusiastic individuals to boost the value for everyone.
Good God, go away.

yea seriously man. the hype of this game is not based solely around the graphics and level editor, but also the community aspects of it. i could essentially buy this game and never have to touch the level editor because there are plenty of people out there that will be eager to post their creations for me to play. that makes it possible for this to be a different game every time i boot it up. how can you not be excited about that? open your mind!

"Sorry but I don't think the vast majority of gamers (even ps3 owners) will really spend a lot of time with this editor"
Can you name any other game with a level editor where the majority of the players bother with anything beyond MAYBE a few minutes with the editor? I can't think of any, and that includes any PC game. You usually wind up with a relatively small but dedicated group of people that enjoy making the levels. The same thing will likely be true here.

Two words for you:
"Garry's Mod"
If people are still dicking around with the Source engine, something purpose built should keep people entertained.

Lol, that one Tony Hawk game was pretty good at it.. I remember building a obstacle course out of skatepark materials such as a long snake of a rail that was over a pit of lava and such, it was pretty fun. But yeah, LBP tops the creativity market.
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 25th 2008 9:52PM
The majority doesn't have to.
Vidikron (FU) @ Aug 25th 2008 10:00PM
@Al
And I ask you two questions... do the majority of people that have played Gary's Mod actually create levels. And, two, how many people even play?
Averna @ Aug 25th 2008 11:29PM
Do the majority need to create?
Only a handful of people need to be making quality content for the SHARE aspect to kick in and increase the replayability exponetially. The mM staff are using the exactly same tools that the public will be able to use, so the degree in quality ( for those talented enough ) would be on par with the content on the disc.
This is the first time ive heard people complaining about free levels for a game... Lets start complaining about the level editor in Farcry 2 while we're at it.

Except for those damn region-lock lobbyists! Damn them! Damn them to Hell and back!

Know what I say to that? So long and thanks for all the fish... wow... am I this bad... Saw a forum post about Deep Thoughts, and got giddy about the thought it was about Deep Thought, philosophising about 42, and general Adamsy nonsense.
Needless to say, it was asking the Gametrailers community for actual deep thoughts... which is like asking a quadraplegic to open a pickle jar.
... oh, yeah. Relevancy. Little Big Planet, not a hyperspace bypass. Yet.

I wonder if I can make a level that informs players in China about news that their government censors. Haha.
Titanium_Orchid @ Aug 25th 2008 8:56PM
lol, you get +1
Vince UK @ Aug 25th 2008 9:23PM
I'm sure that's the way to inform the billions of people who live in China about how they live everyday.
darthweder @ Aug 25th 2008 9:37PM
I don't really understand why this game keeps on being linked to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Can someone please tell me?
