This Wednesday: Castle Crashers (finally!) hits XBLA

Well, it's about time. Also: woo! Finished back in May, the colossally anticipated four-player slash-'em-up, Castle Crashers, is set to crash XBL's download servers this Wednesday. We're sure that The Behemoth is happy, gamers are happy, and we can't tell you how happy we are to finally be able to write this particular XBLA Wednesday post.

The act of comically crashing castles will run you 1,200

($15), but from the time we've already spent with the game, it will be worth every last

. So, just about 48 hours until we can get to unlocking those hidden characters. And don't forget, if you've already bought The Behemoth's first XBLA offering, Alien Hominid, you'll get an insta-unlock of ... the Alien Hominid. As Miracle Max might say, "Have fun crashin' da castles!"

Looks like it could be fun. Sort of a Simpsons brawler type thing.

15 bucks is too much though, but then they have to charge this much given the fact that the game was held up so long. That, and 1200 is the new 800!

It's been a long time since I played this at Comic Con 2005 on a GameCube, and I can't wait to see how it changed since then. I've been a big fan of The Behemoth since they were formed, and this is a launch day download for me!

Am i the only one worried by all these $15 games out recently?
Seems to be a lot of over-$10 games out on all platforms out suddenly.

I'm not saying some of them aren't worth it. But something tells me that we'll be seeing a lot more at this pricepoint from now.

its the summer of arcade... They have been releasing some of the best games so far available on the arcade. Games will continue to be priced at their worth.

That's not the problem. The problem is that if we let them price games at $15, they'll soon start charging $20.And if we simply decide to let it be, it will become a standard just like $60 Next-Gen Games.

I don't get what's with all the haters; this game is well worth the $15.

It has 20 levels and 20 bosses (may have more, I dunno), and will have immense replay value.

A game of this caliber (hell, games of lesser caliber) you would pay $40 on the DS or PSP and have no problem with it, so why is $15 for a game this great such a bad deal?

I have played a few levels of it, and it is a blast. From what I saw, it wasn't as frustratingly hard as Alien Hominid, and there are plenty of poo and blood splats to keep everyone in stitches.
