Bomberman Blast detonating on WiiWare

Don't expect this WiiWare version to be a totally awesome re-imagining of the Bomberman franchise like Act Zero -- the press release makes it sound like this is going to be the same

What Wii got here is... failure to communicate. Some companies you just can't reach. So you get what Wii had here last gen, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you gamers.

So I guess my Mii can be a Bomberman too? That actually sounds pretty appealing.
If only my Mii's real-life counterpart could also create and drop/throw bombs. *sigh*

This is great news... 'cause the VC version of BOMBERMAN'93 is so glitchy and eff'd up, it's more hilarious to see what kind of buggy stuff happens than actually playing the game.
For example, on many occasions, it has done any or all of the following:
» During play, it skipped right to the victory screen without anyone tallying a point
» Loss of function in 3rd and 4th players during a 5-man match
» Freezes. We noticed it during the intro, 1P mode, and multiplayer with 4 players & 1 CPU drone.
» Unable to resume 1P game if player has exited via HOME button -> Wii Menu.

But of course! You will feel the power of my rocker Mii =p
Just like in Mario Kart Wii =p

My comment with the screens link and the Alien Crush link was deleted =(
FOXHOUND @ Aug 26th 2008 1:00PM
Granted, I'll have to delete some stuff off my Nintendo Wii's hard drive... but as soon as it's released and downloaded, I'm totally up for playing. :] Keep me informed.

Huh, I never noticed any of those things you mentioned, FOXHOUND...
[shrugs] Then again, I never had a TG-16, so it's not like I can compare it to the real deal. Though, I have been hearing that the Virtual Console TG-16 emulator is a bit... lacking in authenticity.

I challenge you to a duel on day one!

Here's hoping for yelling across the room at the top of you lungs(aka wii speak)support. :)

Awesome. I've always loved Bomberman, but I've never played any of the online versions. If it's a reasonable price (say 1000 Wii points or less) this will be a must-buy for me.
Mr Khan @ Aug 26th 2008 4:16PM
I'll be totally on this, despite already having Bomberman '93
The online multiplayer is cross-compatible with a retail Bomberman game they're doing for Wii, so there'll be more people online overall.
Chilly Willy @ Aug 26th 2008 6:25PM
Open challenege to all y'all: I will kick your butts in Bobmberman. I was reigning champ in my college dorm SNES Bomberman tournament. (Won me a $20 gift card from that :)

Act zero is the "cool" thing the media industry tries to to do when it has no fcking clue as to what it is it is doing...
You do not morph cute into cool, it just turns things to crap, you can make cute fun and cool in a general scene like megaman..well..cool at least....MM has been as its been milked to death.
