Wow, didn't actually think there would be vocals. So much better, I'm almost sold. Now if only they would release instrument compatibility for wii too.

the vocals aren't part of anything that you upload or download, but it appears that you can record your voice while playing the song or something like that.

This is all very interesting but doesnt answer my main question. Downloaded content from GH3 on Ps3/360 is playable on World Tour. Does this mean, that since World Tour on Wii has downloadable songs, that the entire downloadable GH3 library will be made available in guitar-only form to be downloaded on the Wii version? Does this also mean people who buy GH:WT who never owned GH3 will be able to get GH3 downloadable songs for thier versions, in guitar-only mode obviously, irrespective of platform.?

Guitar Hero III downloadable content won't work with GH: World Tour on any platform.

It was confirmed months ago that previously downloaded GH3 content would be playable on GH:WT in guitar-only form. Get with the program!

The first thing that came to my head when looking at that pic was "Fuck you, no more Braid!".Reading the headline definitely cheered me up.

IANAL, but I forsee copyright issues if they just plan to take down covers after complaints. Isn't YouTube being sued to include a filter to prevent copyright material from being uploaded in the first place? Isn't part of the argument that most people use YouTube for copyright infringing.

Not that any suit against them will succeed, but I'm willing to bet someone will try.

Great news about the vocals and (perhaps more importantly) all the sorting options. That should help sort through the crap and quickly get to the good stuff.

From the sounds of it, this is quickly shaping up to be a great feature. Hopefully it catches on.

So GH:WT is coming in October or something, but have they mentioned their DLC plans at all yet? I have no idea if it's weekly, or mandatory 3 packs... WTF?
And so far I've seen 30 confirmed tracks from this game and many of them are already in Rock Band 2.

Hey, nice penis you got there!

Very Rock and Roll, I fully support more blatant, open depictions of rock hard cocks in video games.

Yeah, I think it's either three or four minutes for songs made in the track maker."

Awww, there goes my plan for a 16 minute guitar solo...

That's the song I was looking forward to as well (almost no vocals anyway). Someone will still do it. It'll just have to be broken up into several songs.
3 or 4 minutes is a pretty silly limitation.

i hope you this is not a real interview
Brian Bright said so on the GH community forums.
That joystiq article was not an interview.
___

We don't record vocals in GHWT. We do allow you to sing while other can improvise live. I commented on this earlier today in another post.

The keyboard track will play as the vocal melody if you are playing as a band. This allows a vocalist to sing along to the melody of a song, although there will be no lyrics. The keyboard track can also be assigned to the guitar or bass track as well if the publisher so desires.

Nothing in the article was an actual quote from me or anyone else in that demo, so please don't refer to it as factual.
