Disagree with your first commenter. You're right, and it's well taken, don't think there's much room for argument. I mean the author's intent was obviously more asinine and less serious than your response, but judging by the majority of offended Candiens I think in this case yours is a but justified, and I won't argue.

Also I found your 'yall' comment to be hilarious, just having come back from business down in TX.

Well, that explains why it is so hard to get either a Wii or Wii fit up here... My mom said I can get brawl at the same time I get Wii Fit, but that's a b*tch because Wii Fit is half impossible to find... guess i'll have to play with sports and play...

The thing with kids and growings and getting learnings and stuff is that... You can't lie to them. Basically, if you wanna tell the children they can't do something they're gonna want to do it more. When I was young I did all kinds of crazy shit and I turned out wicked. That's because my dad was fuckin' cool, he let me do shit. I was allowed to drive his car around the park, basically took my dirt bike to school, let me grow dope in his shed in grade 7. You know, that's what good parenting is all about. You gotta let them have a bit of freedom.

I'm Canadian. I love hockey. I love Maple Syrup. I'm not sure why some people get offended by non-offensive stereotypes.

Hey! As a Canadian, I am extremely offended. I would have thought that my beloved Joystiq would have done way more research and avoided slander and stereotype way more than that.

We don't have Moose for pets! Its Beavers! Sheesh!

I personally don't care.. but it brings up an interesting point. When the **** will the constant belittling of the American's closest neighbor and ally stop? Americans get all upitty and stupid patriotic but we Canadians are just supposed to let you punch us in the arm and laugh at out expense every day because you have bigger military muscles?

Most Canadians don't care about the jokes because they are so stupid and far from reality that they aren't really insulting.. but how well would it be received if I started going off about all the stupid things about you fat-&-lazy, war-hungry, self-righteous, complacent, brainwashed, religious zealots down there?

How about we talk about all the innocent children being killed in Iraq just so you guys can piss all over the globe in a pathetic attempt to tell everyone else not to **** with you.
Oooh.. you don't have to obey international laws... you can just walk in, hold mock trials and hang our leaders.. we get it.. you're so big and powerful, don't blow up your buildings!!

Anyways.. just because it's hip to say these things doesn't mean it is funny or wise to do it now does it?

I dont mind when Americans make fun of canada, as push us hard enough, and we will be your downfall.

Sure our military may suck, but dont forget, we are like the most neutureal country in the world. And since all the terrorists need us to enter America, we wont be touched. All we need to do is open our county up to all of americas enemies and its good bye america. Then we come in during the final hour and claim victory over the two fighting sides who have crippled each other :p

I'm Canadian, awesome writeup.

I don't know what was wrong with those other guys...I'm disappointed in their sense of humour. They must be from Ontario or something.

Oh well, keep up the good work.

The Wii is popular here because all that arm swinging and Wii Fit hula-hooping keeps us warm.

How wonderfully trite of you, joystiq. I am very tired of this overused "Canadian" cliche. Give us a fucking break.

Wow, okay guys, especially you, XGM, just chill out! Yes, stereotypes are funny; who doesn't think so? But I would also like to uphold the Canadian stereotype of being POLITE! Yeesh! I live on the West Coast Lower Mainland, so it honestly snows about once every two years, but I still laugh about living in an igloo! Yes, Canadians love hockey, a good beer, and even better company! It's all true!
So everyone, just chill out and watch the game, eh? =)

Just a note -- I would do anything to live in Canada. A bit too many wasps in Montreal, though they may have been attracted by the beer at orientation at McGill.

I'd have commented earlier, but my igloo front door was frozen shut and I had to get my moose to break it open.

The tags are great, and I promise not to hold this one against you, joystiq. :D

You need to read a book called Why I Hate Canadians. Maybe then you'll learn to take a joke.
