Rumor: LucasArts planning Wii MotionPlus lightsaber game
The Force which compels LucasArts to concoct more ways to utilize the Wiimote for lightsaber gameplay will be with it ... always. According to the latest EGM rumor section, "Quartermann" brings unconfirmed word that the Star Wars factory is looking to follow up its Wii version of The Force Unleashed and The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels with yet another lightsaber-centric game, this one utilizing Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus accessory.
You may recall that LucasArts was one of, well, pretty much every Wii third-party left feeling a bit ... seventieth-party by Nintendo's choice to unveil MotionPlus to them on the same day as the public. According to the Q-man, now that the company has access to the tech for development purposes, it wants to make the bestest lightsaber game ever. Might we suggest it be called: Star Wars: Lightsaber Duels – This Time It's Not All Spazzy, Really!

This alone will make me buy the MotionPlus thingy.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Aug 28th 2008 1:53AM
If they're smart enough, it'll be included.
jinn35 @ Aug 27th 2008 9:37PM
they would be dumb not to
Red Leader @ Aug 28th 2008 12:31PM
I think I speak for everyone when I say it's about fucking time.
ComradeTrotskii @ Aug 27th 2008 9:43PM
As per current Lucas policy they've apparently already completed the production stage which involves them finding all the ways to make this suck as much as it possibly can and how best to implement these ideas fully into what should be an outstanding game.
theturtle363 @ Aug 27th 2008 9:49PM
what?
ComradeTrotskii @ Aug 27th 2008 9:58PM
where?
t_m @ Aug 28th 2008 10:02AM
When
haven't they done that?
Wiinterfang @ Aug 27th 2008 9:43PM
That robot was cool on the movie.
theturtle363 @ Aug 27th 2008 9:48PM
General Grievous was barely in the Clone Wars, his role was basically a brief cameo.
Mr Khan @ Aug 27th 2008 9:51PM
The movie was basically an extra-long episode of the upcoming TV show, which contributed to its shortcomings
Wiinterfang @ Aug 27th 2008 9:59PM
I'm talking about revenge of the sith, I having seen Clone wars.
mackid105 @ Aug 28th 2008 12:22AM
just the fact that you called him "that robot" makes you fail and undeserving of the game if you cant name a character like him
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 28th 2008 12:47AM
He was okay in the movie. He was awesome in the Clone Wars cartoon on TV. I mean, he SCARED Jedi, took on groups of them at a time. Not a hint of that fact in the movie, unfortunately. He gets treated like he's just some irritating robot with lightsabers and the leads make lame wise-cracks at him the whole time.
Wiinterfang @ Aug 28th 2008 10:30AM
I'm not a star wars fan, what are you going to do? sue me?
Phillip Black @ Aug 27th 2008 9:45PM
Well that's a shocker.
Boffo the Sock @ Aug 27th 2008 10:27PM

I know its not saying much, but that screenshot looks better than anything I've seen/heard from the movie
Mr Khan @ Aug 27th 2008 9:47PM
It doesn't adversely affect Force Unleashed as much as it does Clone Wars. Force Unleashed is about the more tactile elements of the force. Lightsaber's just your Melee weapon there
Clone Wars is specifically a game focused on the lightsaber duels, and the promise of a future motion-plus version of what is now assured to be your standard, gesture-based Wii game could dampen any anticipation for Clone Wars, when a game mimicking Wii Sports Resort: Kendo is going to be so much more awesome, but with dismemberment
xcrunk @ Aug 27th 2008 9:54PM
They should concentrate on making a game that doesn't suck. shitheads. star wars sucks.
time @ Aug 27th 2008 10:09PM
*predicting epic down vote*
Solid Chief @ Aug 28th 2008 4:58AM

You need predicting tips from Patcher... =p
Fredster @ Aug 27th 2008 10:39PM
All I want is Lucasart is to make a Grimm Fandango remake on the Wii!!!!
KeenCommander @ Aug 27th 2008 10:43PM
And classic Monkey Island for WiiWare...
And new adventure games that are actually of the quality of the classics.
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 28th 2008 12:50AM
I just want a homebrewer to get SCUMM working on Wii. That'll do just fine.
Dudek @ Aug 28th 2008 8:39AM
Doesn't the homebrew channel have SCUMM already?
CJLopez @ Aug 28th 2008 1:46PM
Yes there is

Gavin @ Aug 28th 2008 12:28AM
After the abortion that was the prequels I refuse to spend money on anything with the words "Star Wars" in the title. Fatneck McChildhoodraper has enough of my money already.
JoeTheBlow @ Aug 28th 2008 4:15AM
What Wii game is that screenshot from?
Don't tell me that its the actual Clone Wars movie, because thats just fucking appalling.
t_m @ Aug 28th 2008 10:04AM
Just realised, I haven't bought a lucasarts game since Jedi Academy...
and i used to check the lucasarts homepage every day for news of new games, and buy any game they released.. but Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy sucked, and then the sequels and overload of average games put me off..
sad.
TrojanGuy @ Aug 28th 2008 1:48PM
I feel bad for Lucasarts and all the other 3rd party devs that got screwed by Nintendo on this. I'm sad to say that Nintendo has kinda lost me on the Wii at this point. I've owned every Nintendo console since the NES, and after being this disappointed by the Wii, I just don't see myself buying their next one (or the motion plus, for that matter).
WorMzy @ Aug 28th 2008 6:55PM
Finally LucasArts announces a game that has the potential to not suck. Now all we need is Monkey Island 1 and 2 on the Virtual Console. :D
