Soulcalibur IV demo on Japan PS Store

If you've been meaning to pick up Soulcalibur IV -- which was released about a month ago -- but have yet to, then perhaps you've been waiting for that demo that was promised. If you find yourself in with that crowd, perhaps getting some playtime with the newly released demo off the Japanese PS Store will tickle your fancy.

The demo, which is completely in English, weighs-in at about 879MB. It'll allow players to fight a few rounds as either Cassandra (pictured getting whacked in the head) or Nightmare (not pictured). For those of you who want to check out the weapon-clashing blades of SC IV, log into your Japanese accounts and download it. For those of you who don't have a Japanese account and are not in a rush, there's a pretty big chance of seeing the demo on your local PS Store update tomorrow.

Got the full game, not even tried the single player campaign and loving the online. Getting my butt kicked regularly, but all very enjoyable, phanar, phanar.

yeah i got the demo today, only two characters to play with, no options allowed, no '''Rumble''', no online(didnt expect to really)...I think the demo's a waste of time, maybe if and when the euro version of the demo gets released it may have at least some Rumble.....please

There is no rumble, and probably won't be.

There's no rumble in any version of the game (including 360). What does rumble have to do with a valid demo, anyway?

Regardless, the two fighters give a demonstration about how the game handles, though I think picking some of the more interesting fighters might have been better.

It's a demo, it's not supposed to have online. It's supposed to let you know if you'll like the game, and for that, two players and no online is fine.

The only fighting series i have ever liked was tekken. No virtua fighter or soulcalibur game has appealed to me.

I waiting on Naruto.Thats the only fighter I need this year. I never could get into Soul Calibur. The game looks great though.

They need to give the player the ability to create Jedi/Sith fighters.

I agree. They really don't seem to be in a hurry to patch new features into the game, though. I mean, the only meaningful patch we've got so far added voice chat mid-fight, which just made the online even laggier and more spamtastic.

I made a Travis Touchdown character and the fact that I can't give him a lightsaber breaks my heart.

When are they going to officially announce the "character" in the 1 square we can't select?

when they confirm Yoda for PS3 and Darth Vader for 360.

It's actually a good question. We understand a lot of our readers are also new PS3 owners, so we're going to be bringing out a bunch of guides soon (like creating a Japanese account, etc). Stay tuned for that.

Wait, is the North merican store getting this because if so, then I'll hold out. Not in a big hurry.

I must say that when I first got this game I thought it was okay but the more I play it the more enjoyable it is. Definitely worth the full buy. If anyone is online fighting and wants to tangle - PSN id Roric767

I find kinda stupid to release the demo now, but then again, who understands todays game devs???

I'd rather rent the game to taste it instead of downloading the demo, but then again, I already have the game, xDDDDD
