The issues with this week's Rock Band DLC were worse than we first thought. Rush's Moving Pictures album will not be available for purchase on Xbox 360, nor PS3. Apparently some guy called "unforeseen technical difficulties" has screwed everything up. Wait, it gets worse. According to the announcement post on the official Rock Band forums, the problem may keep the album from being available for a couple weeks.
Harmonix is currently shifting the release schedule around to have some tracks out this week, keeping its streak of new content since the game's launch alive and well. We'll be sure to post when we hear something about Harmonix's plans.

that's just idiots who feel they're entitled to something free because a release got bumped back. Nobody really cares about them.

Hey, at this point one small DLC disappointment from Harmonix still doesn't equal the number of disappointments Neversoft made with Guitar Hero.
But this does kind of suck. I feel bad for Harmonix after all the Rush fans got pissed at them.

Feeling a sense of disappointment because those who looked forward to this DLC were lied to isn't a "sense of entitlement".
When a promise is made, especially by an entity usually so reliable and even moreso when that promise includes something as stellar as Moving Pictures, it makes perfect sense that people would feel hurt or pissed.
There are people who engineered their day around the release of this album and Harmonix's lack of forthcoming as to when it would actually be released effectively wasted the time of many wouldbe players. Their decision to remain mum as to the reason why is even worse.
And don't even bother with the inane pathetic retort that gamers who spend a day waiting for a game are "losers" - it's called having a love for games. Those who think otherwise shouldn't even be perusing gaming blogs to begin with.

I wonder if this is XBL-related, or if they wouldn't be able to release it on PSN either.
This isn't the first time they've released a full album; I wonder what happened...

Whoops, missed that part: "will not be available for purchase on Xbox 360, nor PS3". Still, is that because the "technical difficulties" are affecting release on PSN, or because they're just trying to keep their releases consistent?
Maybe someone deleted the wrong file off the server (accidentally or intentionally). Or a hard drive crashed and their backup tape snapped. Or hurricanes in the Gulf. Or terrorists...

They said on the Rush website it had to do with the YYZ vocal track. I say screw the vocal part and make it little cowbell clicks.

I would be really pissed right now, being a huge Rush fan, but I'm cool because I don't have points to purchase it yet anyway. I ordered them from amazon.com w/ free shipping so that's gonna take it's sweet old time to get here. I'm looking forward to the album anyway, and I'm really excited to play Vital Signs, Red Barchetta, and YYZ!
ps.

I'd call you paranoid, but after being charged three times for a points purchase I never received once and fighting through hours on the phone with customer support over a few weeks, I'm only buying points cards from here on. Seriously, Microsoft's customer support is unbearable.

First Nevermind, then Who's Next, now this. When can we get a good album that doesn't have problems?

On the Rock Band forums, the admins/mods are banning anyone that makes Rush threads. It's pretty upsetting, and when I say "anyone," I mean EVERYONE.
Also, one of the threads that an admin made had a secret message in it.
I can't find the message, but the letters that are capitalized spell out in order:
WE LOVE FAKE GEDDY LEE
Someone from Joystiq pick up on this? I think this is all just to get people to buy songs to fill up that gigantic gaping hole of progressive rock in their body, and for Rock Band to get more attention. More attention towards Rock Band means less attention to Guitar Hero.
